Introduction about Organisation

VARAHA CLIMATEAG PRIVATE LIMITED is a tech start-up at the intersection of

climate, nature and technology. It is incorporated on 7th February 2022.The start-up uses
technologies such as Remote sensing, Blockchain, Science-based quantification tools and
models. Its authorized share capital is Rs. 1,000,000 and its paid up capital is Rs. 500,000.

Varaha’s Mission :
The company's mission is to provide agriculture as a solution to climate change while also
helping farmers in increasing their income.
Decarbonizing the atmosphere while ensuring longevity of investments in emission-capturing
natural projects.
• Breathing through the mission of changing the status quo, we at Varaha are the world’s first
developing economy-focused, full-stack climate tech company that aims to offset greenhouse
emissions by incentivizing carbon-neutral nature-based practices.
• Connecting these carbon removal projects with companies and helping them address their net
zero emission targets, we provide end-to-end assistance by being a one-stop destination for the
creation, quantification, verification, & sale of high-quality carbon-credits.
• Each project is meticulously vetted through advanced remote sensing analytics and carbon
modelling ensuring every investment results in carbon removal and creates an additional
income source for the smallholders along the way.

End-to-end Project Development:

• Championing partnerships among landowners, investors, NGOs, businesses, and community
groups to identify and support carbon removal through nature-based projects.
• Conserving, restoring, and managing natural ecosystems like forests, farmlands, agroforests,
mangroves, grasslands, wetlands, etc.
• Ensuring immeasurable benefits like complementary synergies, a global bird’s eye view, and
easy access to carbon markets.

Steps for generating carbon credits:

An end-to-end climate tech platform equipped with remote sensing, carbon modelling, and in-
house proprietary Carbon Quantification Tool (CQT).
Driving cheaper and more accurate partner enrolment, GHG quantification, measurement,
reporting, and verification of projects and carbon credits at scale.

Ensuring utmost efficiency and transparency at every step of carbon credit creation.

Application Used:
Geo-tagging: Geotagging is a process of assigning a 'geo-tag' or adding some 'geographical
information in various 'media' forms such as a digital photograph, video or even in a SMS
message. It is the process of appending geographic coordinates to media based on the location
of a mobile device. Geotags can be applied to photos, videos, websites, text messages, and QR
codes, and could also include time stamps or other contextual information.

Geo-point:
Geo-point is a data meaning representing a point on Earth. This processor creates data in the
(longitude, latitude).
Remote Sensing:

Remote sensing is the process of detecting and monitoring the physical characteristics of an
area by measuring its reflected and emitted radiation at a distance (typically from satellite
or aircraft). Special cameras collect remotely sensed images, which help researchers "sense"
things about the Earth. Some examples are:

• Cameras on
satellites and
airplanes take images
of large areas on the
Earth's surface,
allowing us to see
much more than we
can see when
standing on the
ground.
• Sonar systems on
ships can be used to
create images of the
ocean floor without
needing to travel to
the bottom of the
ocean.
• Cameras on satellites can be used to make images of temperature changes in the oceans.

Work Profile:

Working as the intern ,my job role include collecting the data of the activities carried out by
farmers on day to day basis on their fieldI had to cover at least 10 kms distance daily in my
allocated area and have to fill minimum 10 forms daily with different activities (tilling
practices, sowing, harvesting etc.) being carrying out by the farmers. During the work, I
interacted with the farmers and told them about company’s policy. With the nature of job, my
role also include to tell farmers about the pros of mixing paddy straw in the fields and cons of
burning this straw.

Steps followed for collecting data on field:

Step 1: Open ODK app

Step 2:

Select fill blank form:

Step 3:

Start the Modelling form

Step 4:

Select state
Step 5: Select District
Step 6: Select Block
Step 7: Geo-point
Step 8: Geo-shape
Step 9:

Select activity:
Step 10:
Take picture
Step 11: Save and Exit form

Conclusion:

The internship exercise was mainly to enable me acquire practical skills and link theory to
practice in the real world so as to meet the industrial needs.

The internship helped me develop, learn and acquire new skills. The objective of the internship
was fully accomplished and I am confident that the learnings of the internship will definitely
help me secure a good position with any organisation in future.
On moral basis Life of a farmer has a lot of lessons for all of us. Their hard work and patience
is an example for us. It is our responsibility to respect our farmers as they feed us.

A life of farmer may sound really tiring but they are satisfied at the end of day as they are
feeding their families and nation.
