capabilities such as creativity, personal growth, and choice. It allows then to

4.1 Preliminaries

4.2 Activity Learning Stations through FGD
(10 Minutes)  The teacher divides the class into 8 learning stations. Each station is given with one
characteristic to be discussed by each group.
 Also, the group needs to think on strategies on how to protect planet Earth that supports life.
 Lastly, each group gives concrete example of showing their commitment to protect Planet Earth
that supports life.
4.3 Analysis 1. How do you find the activity?
(3 minutes) 2. What characteristic of the Earth that supports life?
3. What strategies can be developed to protect planet Earth that continually supports
life?
4. How do you show your commitment in the protecting the planet Earth that supports
life?

These process questions stimulate the students to THINK COGNITIVELY, INDEPENDENTLY


DECIDE on how he feels about the activities, ways on protecting God’s creation and presenting
his strategies to protect planet Earth without being judged and being wronged . Humanism

4.4 Abstraction Plenary Activity
(15 minutes)  Each group presents what they had come up with their FGD – characteristics of the Earth that
support life, strategies, and commitments
 The teacher reinforces the lesson.

4.5 Application I Am a Protector


(15 minutes)  Each group develops strategies to protect Planet Earth that supports life by creating a slogan or
poster.
 Also, a representative from the group will present their output in class.
 Likewise, the group presents their commitment to take care the Planet Earth

The provision of RUBRIC for this activity provides the learners INTERNAL MOTIVATION to SET
STANDARDS and ASSESS and EVALUATE their work. The teacher explains the rubric. The
students may SUGGEST the criteria on how they will be measured. The learners should
EXPERIENCE that he/she has CONTROL and FREEDOM in his or her learning. Hence, the rubric

4.6 Assessment Journal Writing


(10 Minutes  Each student writes his own specific learning for the day. Below are the guide questions.

 What struggles I have encountered as I learned today’s lesson
 What solutions will I do to resolve my struggles?
Journal writing instills SELF EVALUATION and INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT of LEARNING
without being wronged and judged because assessment comes in a form of SELF-REFLECTION.

4.7 Assignment New lesson to study: The Earth’s subsystems
(3 minutes)
This gives the learners the EXPERIENCE that they can be TRUSTED TO STUDY their new lesson
to be prepared in class. It provides them the opportunity to practice INDEPENDENT LEARNING

The learners are encouraged to FIND their OWN GOALS AND given INDEPENDENTLY to think
their OWN CHOICES in how they can commit themselves. Similarly, it nurtures the student’s
love for God and nature. Thus, molding the learner to becoming a WHOLE BEING.
