Hook’s law
Deformation – Change in the shape or size.

Elastic deformation – the deformation in which the body regains its original
shape as soon as the deforming force is removed

Deformation force = Restoration force

Plastic deformation – permanent deformation which the body goes under

because of too much of force applied on it.

Hooks law – for elastic deformation in a spring the deforming force is directly
proportional to the change in length.

F = ke
F = force
k = spring constant
e = change in length in the spring
Work = Force x Distance
If the equation is F = -ke, then the f no longer means the applied force but it the
force of restoration.

Hook’s law is the relationship between the forces applied on the spring and its
elasticity.
