Ⅰ. 대학 소개
1. 연혁

1949년 5월 신흥초급대학(2년제) 설립 인가

1952년 12월 4년제 대학으로 승격

1955년 2월 종합대학교 설립 인가

1960년 3월 신흥대학교를 경희대학교로 교명 변경

1971년 10월 경희의료원 개원

1979년 1월 국제캠퍼스 교지 확보(53만 평) 및 설립 인가

2019년 2월 개교 70주년

2. 특성
❍ 교시 ‘문화세계의 창조’: ‘문화세계의 창조’는 생명과 우주, 역사 문명의 격동
속에서 인간적인 삶을 위해 무엇을 어떻게 준비할 것인가 사유하고 실천하는
행위이다. 경희대학교는 더 나은 인간, 더 나은 세계를 꿈꾸며 평화로운 지구
사회, 풍요로운 미래문명을 창달한다.
❍ 교훈 ‘학원의 민주화, 사상의 민주화, 생활의 민주화’: 경희대학교는 자율운영

❍ 서류 중 한국어나 영어로 작성되지 않은 경우는 반드시 한글(영어)번역 공증본 제출
❍ 졸업(수료)예정자가 합격한 경우, 아포스티유(영사확인) 받은 최종 졸업(수료)증
명서 해당 캠퍼스 글로벌입학팀에 제출해야 함
❍ 추후 사실 확인에 필요한 서류가 있을 경우, 추가로 요청할 수 있음
❍ 입학 전후를 막론하고, 제출 서류의 위·변조, 지원 자격 미달, 대리 시험 등의
방법으로 합격한 사실이 확인될 경우 합격 및 입학이 취소될 수 있음

Ⅰ. Overview of the University

1. History
1949. 5. Shinheung 2-year Junior College was authorized.
1952. 12. The Junior College was promoted to a four-year college.
The college was elevated to university status, including the College
1955. 2. of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Law, College of Politics
and Economics, and College of Physical Education.
1960. 3. The university was renamed Kyung Hee University.
1971. 10. The 1000-bed Kyung Hee Medical Center opened.

2. Key Information
❍ Motto ‘Creating a Civilized World’: ‘A Civilized World’ is a society in which
the individual can respect others while also finding the self, and can
become sustainably abundant through the creation of new cultures and
uprightness for future generations. The goal is to improve humanity's
welfare by creating a culture and civilization in which new ideas and
aesthetics can blossom.
❍ Kyung Hee Spirit ‘Democratization of School, Thought, and Living’: All
policies and management at Kyung Hee University will be based on the
principles of democratic freedom and are intended to facilitate rational
decision-making. A diverse and creative academe is created through
educational independence and academic research. Democracy will go

❍ Applicants can only apply for the units stated in this guideline
❍ Introduction to each department and academic information are on the
official website of Kyung Hee University(https://khu.ac.kr)
❍ Documents must be translated and notarized if the original document is not in
Korean or English.
❍ Applicants, who have not graduated from high school at the time of
application, and finally get accepted to Kyung Hee must submit a certificate
of graduation to the Division of Global Admissions of each campus
❍ Admission committee may request additional documents depending on the
student’s situation during the admission procedure
❍ Before, during and after admission, if a problem arises with the document
authenticity, eligibility, exam cheating, and etc, admission may be revoked
❍ Successful applicants must obtain TOPIK Level 3 or above before he/she
completes a year of language program
