Module No. & Title: 2. Fluid Statics
=================================================================================
1. Properties of Fluid
Outline of Topics
1. Force on Curved Surface
2. Bouyancy and stability of submerged and floating bodies
3. Fluid masses subjected to acceleration

Specific Intended Learning Outcome/s (SILOs)

At the end of this topic, the student should be able to:
 Comprehend the different terms commonly used in Fluid Statics
 Solve problems involving, fluid statics

Fluid Mechanics, Fluid mechanics is the study of fluid behavior (liquids, gases, blood, and plasmas) at rest
and in motion. Fluid mechanics has a wide range of applications in mechanical and chemical engineering,
in biological systems, and in astrophysics

Lesson 1: Force on curved surface

When a surface is curved, one can find the pressure force by applying force equilibrium to a free body
comprised of the fluid in contact with the surface.

Lesson 2: Buoyant Force

Buoyant force is defined as an upward force (with respect to gravity) on a body that is totally or partially submerged
in a fluid, either a liquid or gas. Buoyant forces are caused by the hydrostatic pressure distribution
