Special Project: Tik Tok Takeover

By: Megan Bozzi

Original Goals and objectives
1. Get to 10k followers
1. Grow Coastal Carolina Athletics Brand
2. We want more people to not only watch our videos but to actually
follow so that they consistently watch them not just only when they
come up on their feed
2. Post 16 videos over the course of my internship
1. Posting consistently will keep us coming up on people's feeds which
causes people to interact and follow more often
3. Increase engagement on videos
1. Create a sense of relationship with our followers by responding to
comments and tags
2. Having videos that prompt people to comment and interact
Goals met/ not met
1. I did not get to 10k followers unfortunately
a. I gained 225 for the Goccusports page
i. I firmly believe that if I had been able to leave up the dance
video it would have been way more
b. I gained 294 for the CoastalLax page
i. I had several videos go viral
2. After combining this project between the GoCCUSports page
and CoastalLax page I posted 24 videos
a. Therefore, I met my goal of wanting to post at least 16
3. I would say that I definitely got some engagement on the
videos on both accounts, but not as much as I would like
because it did not cause people to actually follow

Impacts on agency
● Any publicity for the sports here at Coastal is going to make
the school more marketable
○ Tik Tok is a platform where anyone anywhere can see your videos which is
unlike any other social media platform
○ Tik Toks of the sports doing well are going to entice more people to want
to go here/ support the school
● The more well known our school, the more people commit to play
here, the better our athletics gets, the more money the school
gets for athletics= our department growing and getting more
money put into it
Problem areas
● Issues with people commenting on Tik Toks and what to do
○ The LSU dance trend that I had the CCU dance team do got so much negative
backlash saying that they did a bad job on the dance that the team reached
out and asked me to delete it
■ I talked with my supervisors in my department and even though the
video did really well we thought it best to delete it
○ Someone commented on a video on the page saying that a girl on the track
team was scamming people and I had to decide what to do about that
■ I blocked the person and deleted the comment
● Traveled a lot for lacrosse and could not always be at the
games/ not getting responses from videographers at Coastal
○ Talked with my supervisor about including the work I do for the coastal Lax
Tik Tok page as part of my project and he said that was fine
Improvements
● If I had taken this class during my off season I would
have definitely be able to attend more games and would
have been able to create more content for the GoCCUSports
page
○ Although this was not something I could control, I think it would
have made an improvement on my project
○ I did make up for it though through the lacrosse page because that
did well
