Day 42 (November 8, 2021)

Today is my 42nd day as a practice teacher and the resuming of classes after
the Wellness Break of Bright Beginnings Academy. Same as last time, my task today is
to observe the classes of grade 4 – faith and grade 1 – patience and also the checking
in and checking out of the students in the Little Lives app.

To start my day, I entered the meeting id of the class and started admitting the
grade 4 students. At the same time, I’m taking pictures of them to check-in them in in
the app. When it is already 8 in the morning, the class adviser, Teacher Judy, joined the
meeting to facilitate the opening. Since today is Monday, she encourages the class to
join her in singing the national anthem and reciting the oath to the flag. After doing the
other routine activities, Teacher Judy left the meeting to give way to the grade 4’s first
subject.

In their first subject, Teacher Leah discussed to the class the importance of
looking presentable when it comes to running a business. From there, she asked the
students to share their knowledge regarding the topic. She then discussed the types of
outfits and asked them to wear their favorite outfits at their next meeting on Wednesday.
The class was then followed by Araling Panlipunan which will be facilitated by Teacher
Jhamina. She recalled the class about their previous topic and proceeded to their new
topic about countries that influenced the Filipino culture. After they are done discussing,
the class had their snack time and waited for their next teacher. As the class resumed,
Teacher Judy asked the class to bring out the materials for their art activity. Teacher
Judy recalled the class about the ethnic houses they are going to draw. The class chose
the house they want to draw showed their drawings to the teacher once they finished.
After their Art class, Teacher Judy go on to discuss their lesson in Computer where they
tackled steps to make a table in Microsoft Word. The class then had their lunch break
and then resumed when Teacher Leah entered the meeting for their English class. She
reviewed the class about their previous topics such as nouns adjectives and pronouns
to apply it to their new topic about the parts of a sentence. When they are done, the
class proceeded to their consultation time facilitated by Teacher Kim. I began checking
out the students in the Little Lives app and waited for the class of grade 1 – patience.

In the afternoon, Teacher Krystel facilitated the opening for the class of grade 1
pupils. Just like in the morning, I also checked in the pupils in the Little Lives app and
helped admit them in the zoom meeting. Once the class has settled, they also did the
routines on Mondays. After a few reminders from Teacher Krystel, the class prepared
themselves and waited for their first subject.

Teacher Judy was their first subject teacher and the one who facilitated in
Filipino. She reviewed the class on their precious lesson about Panghalip and asked
each of them to give examples. Some pupils recited their examples and some chatted
to the teacher. After the discussion, Teacher Judy gave way to the class’ next teacher,
Teacher Leah. Teacher Leah had conducted a spelling activity for the past tense of
each irregular verbs as a review before the class’ seatwork in English. She asks the
pupils to try and spell each word and then proceeded to their seatwork. After that, the
class had their snack time and prepare the things they needed in their Arts class.
Teacher Judy showed up again in the meeting to facilitate in Arts where she discussed
to the class the cool and warm colors they are going to use in coloring their activity in
the book. When they are done, the pupils showed their work to the teacher and kept
their things to prepare for their last subject. And for their last subject, Teacher Pauline
reviewed the class on how they will subtract numbers and let the pupils practice by
doing their activity in the book. After that, the class continued their consultation with
Teacher Kim to gain help for their homework. I finished my tasks as I checked out the
pupils in the Little Lives app.
Day 43 (November 9, 2021)

Today is my 43rd day as a practice teacher in Bright Beginnings Academy in

Tanza. Same as the other days, my tasks are to observe the classes of grade 4 – faith
and grade 1 patience and admit and check them in in the Little Lives app.

I entered the meeting and started doing my task while the students awaits the
opening of the class. At exactly 8:00 am, Teacher Judy entered the meeting to facilitate
the opening and lead the class to do their routine activities. After that, the class
prepared themselves for their first subject, Filipino. Teacher Jhamina discussed to the
class about their topic and asked the class to give their examples. Later on, the class
answered their seatwork and continued to their next class. The next subject is Science
and Teacher Krystel carries on to discussing their lesson about living things and their
surroundings. Supposedly, the class will be having an experiment if they have a face-to-
face class but since the current health situation won’t allow it, Teacher Krystel played a
video instead as an alternative. When the students are done answering their seatwork,
they proceeded to the discussion of their new lesson about the interaction of plants and
animals. After that, the class had their snack time and waited till Teacher Pauline
entered the meeting for their Math class. She tackled the class about rounding off
numbers and gave them exercises to practice their skills and knowledge about it. It was
then followed by answering their activity in the book. When Teacher Pauline left the
meeting, Teacher Leah took over to assist the students for the remaining time of their
Math class. She then proceeded in facilitating the students’ unit test in Values
Education. Teacher Leah also taught the grade 4 students in their English right after the
class’ lunch break. During their consultation time, I started checking out the grade 4
students before the class ends. I also waited until the next class of grade 1 – patience in
the afternoon.
The grade 1 pupils started rushing into the meeting at about 12:45 pm and just
like in the morning, I did my tasks while the class waited for their class to open. Teacher
Pauline led the class to do their routine activities in the opening and after a few
reminders, she left the meeting for the class to wait for their first subject teacher.

In their first subject, Teacher Krystel taught the class about the parts of the
school for their Araling Panlipunan. To make the discussion more fun, she asked the
pupils to do some role play to explain the things they can do and learn from there. After
the discussion, the class proceeded to their next subject with Teacher Judy where they
had a recitation about the example sentences using panghalip. After that, the class
began eating their snacks and were on standby for their next subject teacher. Their last
two subjects were ESP and Science. In ESP, Teacher Pauline recalled to the class
about the story they tackled and continued discussing the right of children and how the
class was able to enjoy those. In Teacher Jhamina’s class in Science, she discussed to
the class the parts of the plants and their functions. After that, the class proceeded to
their consultation time with Teacher Kim and I began checking them out as well in the
Little Lives app.

When all the class had ended, I was tasked by my cooperating teacher to
transfer the file she sent to me in a google form. It was for the review of grade 4 – faith’s
participants in a Science Quiz bee that will be held outside their school. I finished the
task and I’m glad I was able to help even in the small ways I could.
Day 44 (November 10, 2021)

Today is my 44th day as a practice teacher in Bright Beginnings Academy in

Tanza and I continued doing my tasks in the classes of Grade 4 – Faith and Grade 1 –
Patience. While the class is entering the zoom meeting, most of them are already
wearing their favorite attire which they will explain on their first subject.

After the routine activities in the opening led by Teacher Judy were already done,
the class waited until Teacher Leah showed up and facilitate in their HELE class.
Teacher Leah called each student to present their favorite clothes to the class. It also
had showcased the preferences of students in choosing the clothes they wear. On their
second subject, Teacher Krystel discussed a new topic about the interaction of plants to
plants and answered the activity in the book. After that, the classes halted for a bit for
the grade 4’s snack time. At exactly 9:40 am, the class resumed as Teacher Pauline
played the introduction for the Math class. When the class resumed, Teacher Pauline
reviewed the class about their previous discussion about rounding off numbers. She
then asked the class to bring out the measuring materials she asked them to bring and
measure the things listed on her screen. The class listed all the measurements and
rounded them off. When they are done, the class proceeded to their Music class with
Teacher Judy. The class was able to showcase their talents in singing since Teacher
Judy lets them sing when they are already done discussing. Shortly after, the class had
their lunch and waited till Teacher Jhamina arrive for their Araling Panlipunan class
where they continued their discussion from the previous discussion. When their classes
are finished, the students continued to their consultation time and I started checking
them out in the app.
In the afternoon class, Teacher Pauline led the opening in grade 1 – patience’
class. Just like the morning class, they did their routine activities and had a few
reminders to prepare for today. Teacher Krystel then entered to facilitate in their Araling
Panlipunan class. Teacher Krystel posts a series of questions while discussing with her
pupils. While discussing, I noticed that students were being intrigued with questions that
the teacher asked. It made me realize how it is important for teachers to master the art
of questioning to be able to impose curiosity on pupils and make them enjoy learning. In
the next class, Teacher Leah facilitated a spelling activity to the class on the past tense
of irregular verbs and continued onto their new topic about the present tense form of
verbs. Then the class head on to their snack time before going to their summative test
in Health that is facilitated by Teacher Kim. After that, Teacher Pauline took over to
teach the class in Math. They discussed the ways they can subtract numbers and
practice their skills with the task given by Teacher Pauline. When the class is finished,
Teacher Kim joined the meeting again to assist the class with their assignments. To
finish my tasks, I began checking the class out in the Little lives app and waited till the
host ended the meeting.
Day 45 (November 11, 2021)

Today is my 45th day in pre-service teaching at Bright Beginnings Academy in

Tanza. I also observed the class of grade 4 – faith and grade 1 – patience and
continued doing my task during the day in admitting and checking in and out the
students in the Little Lives app.

In the morning, the class did their usual routine during the opening with Teacher
Judy. They waited for their first subject teacher, Teacher Jhamina and discussed their
new topic about the Antas ng Pang-uri. When they are done discussing, they proceeded
to their next class with Teacher Krystel where they had a review on their previous topic
in Science. To conclude their discussion, Teacher Krystel asked the class to answer the
seatwork on their book, and shortly after, the class had their snack time. When the class
resumed, Teacher Pauline played the intro to signal the class that it is now time for their
Math class. She introduces a new topic about the types of lines such as perpendicular,
parallel, and intersecting lines and used hand gestures so that the students will recall
them better. After that, they answered the activity in their book. Since Teacher Pauline
had to leave early, Teacher Leah took over the class and assist the remaining students
who had questions about their lesson. Then, the class transitioned to their next subject,
Values. This is where they discussed a new lesson about admiring the beauty of the
world and giving importance to it. At the end of their Values class, Teacher Leah
allowed the class to have their lunch and come back on their last subject at exactly
11:30 am. In their English class, Teacher Leah introduced to them a new topic about
subject-verb agreement. She explained to them the patterns and guidelines to identify
the form of verbs to use then she led them in answering their activity in the book. When
the class is done, the grade 4 students proceeded to their consultation time with
Teacher Kim. I, on the other hand, began checking them out in the Little Lives app.
Soon after, the first class is done and I waited till the next in the afternoon.

I had the same routine when the grade 1 pupils started rushing into the meeting.
To open the class, Teacher Pauline led them in doing their usual routine, but since it is
Thursday, the class had their daily focus. In their PE class, the class played a game
called “The floor is lava” where Teacher Kim played the song and the pupils will dance
until they count down and had to stand on something other than the floor when the song
commands “the floor is lava”. The pupils had a lot of fun and requested to play again
one more time after the discussion. Teacher Kim then tackled a new topic to the class
which is singing games. Each student shared a few singing games that they know other
than what Teacher Kim had listed and once they finished, the grade 1 pupils played
another round of the game. After that, Teacher Judy took over the class to facilitate in
Filipino where they continued their previous discussion. Pupils were encouraged to give
their examples on the topic. Most of them were able to do it but there are a few that
cannot. When they are done in Filipino, Teacher Pauline taught the class on their ESP
subject. She asked the class to continue making their poster regarding the rights of a
child. The pupils who are already done, presented, and explained their work in class.
Towards the end of ESP time, Teacher Pauline played a bible story video to them and
concluded their class. Shortly after, Teacher Jhamina facilitated the unit test in Science.
Since most pupil still needs assistance in answering the questions, Teacher Jhamina
reads it while the class is answering. When they finished, the class get on to their
consultation time and started checking them out on the app.
Day 46 (November 12, 2021)

Today is the forty-sixth day of my practice teaching in Bright Beginnings

Academy. And today, the students had a series of reviews to prepare them for their
upcoming second quarterly exam next week.

The day started as Teacher Judy, opened the class for grade 4 – faith. They did
their usual routine and had their daily focus that is held on Fridays. After that, the class
had their review and recitation in their Filipino subject with Teacher Jhamina. She called
each student but since some are having problems with their connection and devices,
some were not able to participate. After that, they answered their activity and proceeded
to their next subject, Araling Panlipunan, also facilitated by Teacher Jhamina. They
continued discussing their topic on the countries that influence the culture of Filipinos.
When they are done, the class had their snack time. As the class resumed, Teacher
Pauline reviewed the class on their previous topic on lines and asked them to draw
each line using the materials she asked them to bring. After that, Teacher Judy entered
the zoom meeting and facilitated a game of jumbled letters to introduce the concepts of
their new topic. Later on, they had their lunch and came back to Teacher Leah’s class in
English. They also continued tackling the guidelines about the subject-verb agreement.
The class then proceeded to their last class in PE with Teacher Kim. But since there will
be a parent meeting in our meeting id, the class had to be transferred into the breakout
room. In the breakout room, the class proceeded to their discussion about physical
games. When they are done, Teacher Kim allowed the students to leave the meeting.
Since the meeting of parents is not yet done, there was a bit of delay in admitting
the grade 1 pupils to the meeting. To continue the meeting, the parents were transferred
to the breakout room and then we began admitting the pupils. When the class had
settled, Teacher Kim facilitated the opening of class and did the usual routine of grade 1
– patience.

In the first subject, Araling Panlipunan, Teacher Krystel reviewed the class on
their parts of the school by switching roles with the pupils, her as the pupil and the
grade 1 as the teacher. Teacher Krystel posed questions to each pupil and asked them
their ideas on the part of the school she flashes on her screen. When they are done, the
class proceeded to their next subject with Teacher Leah. They reviewed their previous
lesson, but while discussing, a parent of one pupil stood on the camera and told the
teacher his concern about his child. Teacher Leah then explained to him and then
moved on to continue their discussion. Shortly after, the class had a short break. In their
next class, Teacher Jhamina facilitated the summative test in Music for grade 1 pupils.
She also read each question to the class to make sure they are answering the test by
themselves. Once they are done, Teacher Pauline joined the meeting and gave drills to
the class to practice their skills in subtracting numbers. The class then moved on to their
consultation hours, but since it is Friday, the pupils who are only going to undergo
reading sessions will stay in the meeting. Finally, all the students left the meeting.
