ACTIVITY 1 - FINALS

ESSAY WRITING: Answer the following questions carefully.

1. Tell a personal experience in which you think you showed compassion for yourself.
- My personal experience that I show compassion for myself is when I start taking
care of myself. And I also start loving and accepting all my imperfections. And
thanks to that decision I’ve made, because now I am really happy and
comfortable with myself. Unlike before, I usually lock myself in my room, crying,
and having different thoughts in mind. And it reached the point that I won’t eat for
the whole day. And also, I feel anxious every time I go out thinking everyone is
looking at me and laughing at me.

2. Do you always feel compassionate for others? In what ways?

- I think I also feel compassion for others, because I experienced once that a friend
of mine is having a hard time and feeling down because of break up with her
boyfriend. And even though I’m not in her situation, I know how she feels and I
feel really bad. Seeing someone crying and understanding the situation she has I
can’t make myself not to cry also. We can also feel compassion with those we
didn’t know, one of the examples of that is when we see someone who needs
help we do not hesitate to help them, especially if we have been or experienced
the same situation they experienced.

3. Share one instance in which you think you failed to show compassion to your
brethren. What did you do? What do you plan to do to correct that mistake?
- I think for me, a situation that I experienced that I think I failed to show
compassion for was when I was elementary or grade 5 and 6. Before I really
didn’t care that much in my studies, and I’m not doing any assignment the
teacher gave to us. I also get low scores in my activities, quizzes, and
exams.And the worst thing is I have a line 7 in my card and my mother is really
disappointed in me. So I decided to retrieve my mistakes and do my best in
grade 7 (highschool). I manage to complete every task given to us and get
passing scores in my exams and quizzes. And because of all my hard work I
didn’t get any line of 7 in my card, and I even managed to get a top and
achievements. My mom was really proud of me at that time and she really can’t
believe that I got a top and good grades.
