Fire is very important in our everyday life but they can also bring us harm. On May 13,
2015, a fire broke out at the Kentex Manufacturing factory in Valenzuela City and killed 74 people.
It is the third worst fire incident in the Philippines after the 1996 Ozone Disco Club fire that killed
162 and the 2001 Manor Hotel fire that led to the death of 75 people. In all three cases, buildings
were totally burned or destroyed, huge amounts of investment were lost, and those who escaped
and survived suffered from losing their jobs, their source of income, and livelihood.
