Statement of Purpose

I am Hozaifa Ibn Showaib, passport no: A00188290, have been recently accepted for Bachelor
Of Business Administration at the Memorial University Of Newfoundland, which is located at 230
Elizabeth Ave, ST. John’s, NL A1C 5S7, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
Although I am a student who has a science background, I came to the realization that it would
be better not to continue in that area as I have lost interest in it. After completing my HSC
examination I have been studying subjects like business and economics on my own and
realized that I would do well in subjects like that. In addition, I have also researched a lot about
business and other related subjects and took advice from my seniors as well. Therefore, I have
decided to study Bachelor of Business Administration.
I have always maintained good grades throughout my academic life. I got a GPA of 5.00 in both
my primary school certificate exam and junior school certificate exam. I decided to take science
as my major because I was interested in that field at that time. Later I got a GPA of 5.00 in SSC
(senior school certificate exam) from Adamjee Cantonment Public School, one of the best
schools in Bangladesh. Afterward, I passed my HSC (higher secondary certificate exam) from
another reputed college in Dhaka with a GPA of 5.00.
There are a lot of reasons why I chose the Bachelor Of Business Administration. Firstly, I want
to be an entrepreneur. I have always felt comfortable working independently. Working all by
myself makes me more productive and I really enjoy it. I grew up watching some great role
models of Bangladesh. Ayman Sadiq and Fahim Saleh are two of them. One day I would like to
be a successful entrepreneur like them. In order to be a great entrepreneur, a BBA degree is
necessary. In fact, a BBA degree can be a great foundation if I decide to pursue an MBA. Apart
from entrepreneurship, I can also get placed in good positions and good companies right after
getting my BBA degrI am Hozaifa Ibn Showaib, passport no: A00188290, have been recently

The institution is a huge factor when it comes to graduating in general. I have chosen Canada to
study as it is ranked for its high-quality education. Canada has an excellent education system. I
have found Canada as a better place to study and I am eager to have this opportunity to be a
part of this high-standard academic infrastructure. Memorial University Of Newfoundland has all
the opportunities, facilities and services for international students. MUN is one of the best
universities in Canada which is ranked 751-800 in QS world university rankings, 501- 600 in
Times Higher Education and 23rd in national rankings. The institution tremendously offers a
bachelor's degree, where I can learn and implement them to form my career in my beloved
country, Bangladesh. There are so many universities in Bangladesh that offer BBA degrees, but
unfortunately, their standard is not up to the mark. At the same time, the education system in
Bangladesh is inferior compared to Canada's education system and the facilities are very
limited. Hence I prefer to get my Bachelor Of Business Administration degree from MUN,
Canada.

As I already mentioned, I have a great interest in entrepreneurship. Bangladesh is a developing

country and our GDP is improving steadily. Apart from a minor percentage in the government
sector, the whole economy heavily depends on the private sector and entrepreneurship. Day by
day the essentiality of entrepreneurial business is rising. As a result, entrepreneurs are doing
quite well in Bangladesh. Even during this Covid19 pandemic, entrepreneurs in Bangladesh
have been able to successfully run their businesses. Besides that, BBA holders have one of the
highest employment rates compared to other degree holders in Bangladesh. There is a huge
demand for BBA graduates in the current job market of Bangladesh. Big companies like
Bashundhara Group, Beximco Group, ACI Group etc are always looking to recruit the best BBA
graduates.

After starting my program at Memorial University Of Newfoundland, I will do my best to get the
best result and absorb practical knowledge. I will return to my own country once my BBA is
completed and open my own business here or work for big companies like Bashundhara Group,
Beximco Group etc. My relatives who are well-established businessmen here are already willing
to help me. At the same time, I will have the opportunity to join a successful company in
Bangladesh. A BBA degree from Memorial University Of Newfoundland will certainly give me an
extra edge in Bangladesh.

Talking about my family, I have one elder brother and one elder sister. We live together with our
parents. My father Md Showaib Ali who is a retired electrical engineer of Dhaka Power
Distribution Company is currently a landlord. My mother is also a landlady and a housewife. We
have a six-story building here in Dhaka. My parents have properties in our home district
Jamalpur as well. They earn a great figure of income per year. My elder sister Hafsa Binte
Showaib lives with her husband. My elder brother Elias Ibn Showaib is currently studying at a
public university here in Dhaka. All of our needs are always fulfilled by our parents. They are
capable of bearing all our expenses. We were raised in a happy and safe environment. As the
youngest child, I am the favorite of my parents. After completing my degree from Canada, I
must return to Bangladesh and take responsibility of my family. My relatives also live in Dhaka
and we have a good relationship with all of them. I have been living in Dhaka since I was born.
All of my friends also live here. Besides them, I have good relations with all my neighbors.

Regards,

Hozaifa Ibn Showaib
