METHOD
A. Subjects/Participants
The researchers who would perform the study were the respondents. The
researchers will test and evaluate the efficacy of a hand sanitizer made from Aloe vera
(Aloe barbadensis miller) and Orange peel (Citrus sinensis).
B. Data Collection Approaches/Strategies
To answer and determine the efficacy of Aloe vera and Orange peel in the
development of alternative hand sanitizer, the researcher will set up controlled
environment for hypothesis testing. This study took an experimental method which is
then designed to see how closely different variables are linked.
The researchers will conduct sensory tests prior to texture, consistency, scent,
moisturing effect, and color. For the data gathering, researcher-made questionnaire
survey will be handed out to 6 participants to rate the following variables stated in the
problem. The researchers will use Arithmetic Mean as a statistical tool for the data
analysis.
C. Ethical Issues About Collection Upon The Subjects/Participants
The researchers ensured that every phase of the experimental investigation was
evaluated and checked by the research adviser and therefore granted authorization to perform the
research procedure. Furthermore, before getting aloe vera, the researchers obtained permission
from the owner of the aloe vera plants.
D. Materials and Procedure
A. Gathering of Materials
The materials gathered by the researchers are both readily available are
common in Filipino homes. If the supplies are not available in the household,
the materials are affordable. The product is created from two orange peels,
olive oil, aloe vera gel and ethyl alcohol.
B. Product Creation
● Orange Peel Oil
1. Prepare the materials to be used: oranges, oil, and a glass jar. Peel off the
skin and chop it into smaller pieces.
2. Grab a clean glass jar. Put the chopped orange peel pieces inside. Then,
Select a natural oil to your liking. For our product, we used olive oil. Pour the
oil up until it covers the orange peel inside the glass jar.
3. Store for 4 days or a week for infusion.
