Based on the records from the regional investigation and detective management division (RIDMD), the wanted
personalities were arrested during a weeklong manhunt operation conducted in the different provinces of Cordillera
from Jan. 22 to Jan. 28.

Of the arrested individuals, six was listed as most wanted, including three at the regional level, two in the municipal
level, and one in the provincial level.

The police regional office cordillera’s relentless efforts against wanted personalities resulted in the arrest of 53
individuals wanted by the law.

The Benguet Police Provincial Office made the highest number of arrests with twenty, followed by the baguio city
police office with 19, abra ppo with six, ifugao ppo with four,kalinga ppo with two, and one arrest each for apayao
ppo & mt. province ppo.

Zero crime incidents were recorded in the 24 municipalities of Abra; 11 municipalities in Benguet; 10
municipalities in Mt Province; 10 in Ifugao; six in Kalinga; and five in Apayao.

Cordillera regional director Brig. General Mafelino Bazar noted that as a result of an intensified police visibility
and campaign against criminality, 66 municipalities in the different provinces of the region and three police stations
in Baguio City remain peaceful as PROCOR recorded zero crime incidents during the same week.

Further, Loakan Police Station 4,

Aurora Hill Police Station 6, and Marcos Highway Police Station 10 also recorded zero crime incidents out of 10
police stations in Baguio City.

The President told the DSWD and other government agencies to ensure that their respective services “reach those in
need wherever they may be,” stressing that people should not need to travel to urban areas to access government
services.

Continue giving cash grants to poor households and individuals who are heavily affected by the rising prices of
goods, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. told the department of social welfare and development
(DSWD).

Speaking at the 72nd founding anniversary of the DSWD on Tuesday, Jan. 31, Marcos ordered the department to
continue implementing various programs aimed at reducing poverty and hunger in the country.

“Continue calibrating the pantawid pamilyang pilipino Program and strengthening the government’s social
protection initiatives, especially since one of the measure that we undertake to address poverty is through the grants
that we provide for the health needs of every household and education of our children,” he said.

“In addition to these, I call upon the department to continue to implement the unconditional cash transfer program
to provide cash grants to poor households and individuals who do not benefits from the lower income tax rates but
who are adversely affected by rising prices,” he added.

In his speech, Marcos also lauded the DSWD for its contributions in pandemic response, reducing poverty and
hunger, and towards achieving upper middle income status by 2025.
The chief executive also asked the DSWD to enhances the social pension program for indigent senior citizens as a
means to augment their daily subsistence and medical needs.

“The work that you do is crucial and I am sure that with your dedication and hard work, we will continue to make
the progress in uplifting the lives of our fellow Filipinos,” the President said.
