Today, so many people are concerned with the environment that many businesses try to represent themselves as being
“green.” They want to have a reputation for being environmentally conscious.
- Business applications can range from large line-of-business systems to specialized tools.
Consider all the applications that run on either client computers or servers, including commercial

how a particular set of problem solving strategies is appropriate for achieving their goal. What is to be accomplished/learned?
Example: In support of the Supermarket “Green” initiatives, I bring my own shopping bags for grocery shopping and
say no to plastic bags.

- You may already use a computer for data storage for your business. Inventory, sales, receivables and payables

stored in Excel, Open Office or a similar program keeps these figures at your fingertips. Accounting software stores your
payroll information, tax records and specialized data for your business. Once youre acquainted with a program, you
wont know how you functioned without it. You can eliminate much of the physical storage at the office by using
information technology to scan and store old personnel and payroll files, tax files or client files. You may need less
square footage with information technology.

In our lessons for today, I have learned about:

- IT Application Tools in Business introduces the basic concepts of information technology (IT) applications, tools, and
techniques in business environments. It is skillfully arranged to facilitate students' learning and acquisition of technical and applied
skills. Hence, it is divided into six units comprised of comprehensive discussionof the following topics: (1) information technology
in a business environment, (2) introduction to information systems, (3) emerging technologies for business processes, (4) e-
business, e-commerce, and m-commerce, (5) functional and enterprise system, and (6) IT governance, ethical, and security issues
in IT. Furthermore, it includes real-world scenarios, case studies, and practical exercises to assess students' level of understanding
of the topics. With the book's design, students are allowed the opportunities to evaluate existing systems used by business
organization, thereby giving them useful knowledge that they can use in their future profession. What are IT tools examples? Tools
include virtually any software or utility that is used by programmers and users to create applications or maintain their computers.
Compilers, interpreters, assemblers, 4GLs, editors, debuggers and application generators all belong to the tool category of
programming tools.

I will memorize the above learning points, explain them in my own words, and apply them in our activities.
