 ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

The objectives of the assignment are to expose learners to critical thinking, decision-
making skills and enhance the learners’ problem-solving skills through one of the
problem-solving tools before making a decision.

PART 1: ESSAY (30%)

In the 21st century, it has become essential for companies to be digitally literate in a
challenging business environment. Many senior employees who are about to reach
retirement age and have been in the same company for more than two decades find it hard
to engage in digital technology. This situation has caused them to feel demoralized, and on
the company's side, it is a challenge to handle these senior employees who cannot cope
with current trends.

Based on the above case, apply your critical thinking skills and problem-solving by writing
an essay on identifying the root cause and offering suggestions for improvement. Your
essay should include the following components:
1. Introduction
2. Identify the issue(s)/problem(s) of the case
3. Analyse and propose a solution
4. Conclusion
5. References

PART 2: REPORT WRITING (30%)

You are required to write a report about your own personal problem and propose a
solution to the problem. Think of any problem or issue at work or in your own personal life
that you are encountering now. You need a strategic solution for your problem.
Your report should be based on the following components:
1. Introduction: The objective of the report
2. Content:
 i. Description of the issue/problem;
ii. Application of ONE (1) problem-solving tool or decision-making strategy
to solve or decide on the issue/problem;
iii. Elaboration on the solution or decision of the issue/problem.
3. Conclusion – Summary of the report and self-reflection about the process of
doing the assignment.

PART 3: ONLINE CLASS PARTICIPATION (10%)

This part requires students to participate actively in the MyINSPIRE eforum. Discuss the
following topics in the forum and submit proof of your participation with your tutor and
peers in the eforum online discussions:

1. Do you agree or disagree with the statement, ‘Good thinkers are born rather than
made? Justify your argument.
2. Compare and contrast the characteristics of a good and a poor thinker in both the
phases involved in the thinking process.
3. Elaborate on any five of the barriers to critical thinking.
4. In your opinion, does our current education system place higher importance on the right
or left brain? Suggest ways and steps that can be taken to improve this situation.

TUJUAN:
Objektif tugasan adalah untuk mendedahkan pelajar dengan pemikiran kritis, kemahiran
membuat keputusan, dan meningkatkan kemahiran menyelesaikan masalah pelajar melalui
salah satu alat penyelesaian masalah sebelum membuat keputusan.

BAHAGIAN 1: KARANGAN (30%)

Pada abad ke-21, ia menjadi penting bagi pekerja syarikat celik digital dalam persekitaran
perniagaan yang mencabar. Ramai pekerja senior yang hampir mencapai umur persaraan
dan telah berkhidmat di syarikat yang sama selama lebih daripada dua dekad mendapati
sukar untuk melibatkan diri dalam teknologi digital. Keadaan ini telah menyebabkan mereka
berasa lemah semangat, dan di pihak syarikat, merupakan satu cabaran untuk
mengendalikan pekerja senior ini yang tidak dapat menghadapi trend semasa.

Berdasarkan kes di atas, gunakan kemahiran pemikiran kritis dan penyelesaian masalah
anda dengan menulis esei tentang mengenal pasti punca dan menawarkan cadangan
penambahbaikan. Karangan anda mesti merangkumi komponen berikut:

BAHAGIAN 2: PENULISAN LAPORAN (30%)

Anda dikehendaki menulis satu laporan tentang masalah peribadi anda dan cadangkan
penyelesaian kepada masalah itu. Fikirkan sebarang masalah atau masalah di tempat kerja
atau kehidupan peribadi anda yang anda hadapi sekarang. Anda memerlukan penyelesaian
strategik untuk masalah anda.

Laporan anda hendaklah berdasarkan komponen berikut:

1. Pengenalan: Objektif laporan
2. Kandungan:
i. Penerangan mengenai isu/masalah;
ii. Aplikasikan SATU (1) alat penyelesaian masalah atau strategi membuat keputusan
dalam menyelesaikan isu/masalah;
iii. Penjelasan mengenai penyelesaian atau keputusan isu/ masalah tersebut.
