andvariety, proportion and contrast as principles of art through drawing

D. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. Name and describe 5 specific shapes;
2. Draw and use the 5 shapes to create a art; and
3. Appreciate the value of shapes in art.

Each pair must create a object that includes the 5 specific shapes
They will be given 5 minutes to do their work and answer the guided questions. Learners
will write their answer in a long bond paper.

SHAPE
: A flat object with no open sides,Lines that touch each other on both ends.
5 Basic Shapes
Circle: A round, two-dimensional shape.All points on the edge of the circle are atthe same
distance from the center.A few things around us that are circular inshape are a car tire, a
wall clock that tellstime, and a lollipop.

Square: A closed, two-dimensional shapewith 4 equal sides. A square is aquadrilateral.We


can find the shape of a square in agame board or chess board, a wall clockand in a slice of
bread, around us.

Rectangle: A two-dimensional shape ingeometry, having 4 sides and 4 corners.Its two


sides meet at right angles. Thus, arectangle has 4 angles, each measuring 90 ̊

.Rectangle being the most common shapeforms a part of our day to day life. Somereal-life
examples of the rectangle aretable tops, books, mobile phones, TV, etc

Oval: A shape rather like an egg or anellipse, which may be two-dimensional or three-
dimensional.

Triangle: A triangle has three sides, threevertices, and three angles. The sum of thethree
interior angles of a triangle is always180.We can find the shape of a triangle in aflag, the
musical instrument triangle, anda roadside signboard.

D. APPLICATION Make your own version of the 5 specific shapes and enhance it. Be creative in making the
activity. You may use crayons and other coloring materials. (20 Minutes)
