DIP1PR01 PUBLIC’S OPINIONS ON FUCHSIA SEM 1, 2022

It’s not pink, it’s fuchsia.

Fuchsia gets its name from 16th-century German botanist Leonhard Fuchs. The fuschia plant is named
in his honor, and the color was first introduced as the dye fuschine. It became known as magenta in
1859, to mark the French victory at the battle of Magenta, a city in Italy. Fuchsia invokes female charm
and projects casual, light-heartedness.

As the part of the PR team for an online Malaysian high street fashion brand, you are assigned with
the task to conduct a preliminary study on the color ‘fuchsia’ among the brand’s existing consumers.

1. Interview a minimum of 5 respondents to find answers for the following questions:

a) What do you think about the color fuchsia?

b) Do you think fuchsia is a feminine, masculine, or neutral color?
c) Will you consider fuchsia as one of your favorite colors?
d) What colors are considered masculine?
e) Will you incorporate fuchsia into your daily wardrobe?

2. Based on your study, do you think fuchsia is a feminine color? What do men think about this vivid
purplish color?

3. Will it be easy to change the male consumers’ perception on the color fuchsia?
