Research Methodology

Research Design:

The researcher primarily aimed to determine the level of dependency and addiction on internet among
teenagers.

First, by formulating the hypothesis. Determine if these were any general trends in the appearances of
articles on AID. And the other one, examine the characteristics of published articles. Second, focus to
the information and related study, and find some important information associated as relevant to the
system being proposed. Then, answer the statement of the problem. Researcher must gather the
necessary material for developing the internet addiction. After gathering enough materials, organized
the needed facts and concept about internet addiction.

Research Population and Sample:

All students or teenagers inside the campus (13-18 yrs old.) And about 40% of teenagers were going to
be tested

Sampling Procedure Research Instruments:

Probability sampling method
1.Weighted mean was used in determining the addiction to compute for the WEIGHTED MEAN,below is
the formula.
WM= of X
X-Number of observation
-The Sum of the product of x and w
N-Number of respondents
WM-Weighted mean
2. Percentage was used for the performance level of the students in the pre-test and post-test.
FORMULA: Percentage=Raw score/highest Possible ×15+15
3.T-test in paired comparison was used in determining the significant difference on the performance
level between pre-test and posttest.
Formula:
t=d/n , t= sd/n

Validity and Reliability of Instruments:

This study aimed to identify the construct validity and internal reliability coefficients of the “Internet
Addiction and Dependency”. According to Keser, et al (2013) sample for the adoption study was
composed of children ages between 12 and 17 living in the city of Tokat/Turkey (N=480). For the
adopted scale, reliability coefficient Cronbach alpha was calculated as 0.90 and Spearman Brown
value was calculated as 0.86. Exploratory factor analysis was used to confirm the construct
validity; and confirmatory factor analysis used to determine whether the factor model was correct.
As a result of this analysis, it was determined that 20 items were grouped under 4 factors. Cronbach α,
internal consistency coefficient for the first factor was 0.91; second factor was 0.87; third factor
was 0.89; fourth factor was 0.90; and for the whole scale was 0.90. Spearman Brown value for the scale
was 0.86. Guttmann Split-Half value for the scale was 0.85. These calculated coefficients were all in the
acceptable range, and these suggested that the test and the each factor had internal reliability. Validity
and reliability analysis were reviewed about the adoption of Internet Addiction Test and it was
concluded that the results that were found was in the acceptable ranges.

Research Intervention:

This systematic review was designed to relate theories of Internet Addiction and Dependency (IAD) to
treatments, describe the studies of psychotherapies for IAD, and propose a model of intervention and
addiction based on extant studies.

According to Ruggieri 2016 the current literature shows number of papers focusing on (AID). Few
authors have dealt with the prevention programme. The aim of this paper is to present an evaluation of
an action-research intervention for the prevention of Internet Addiction in schools.

And the procedures applied a pre-experimental research design model, a total of 90 young subjects (45
males and 45 females) were treated using a peer education programme. The Internet Addiction Test was
used as a screening tool pre- and post-treatment and analysed using a paired t-test. Followed by the
results, as the result showed a significant positive difference in the post-treatment values for both males
and females.

Data Collection Procedure:

To define the performance level in terms of "Internet addiction and dependency" by defining associated
terms and their dimensions that can be used correctly in social research, as well as to outline the scope
of "Internet addiction and dependency." The research is focused on scientific articles published in
English language journals that address the problems of Internet addiction, Internet dependency,
problematic Internet use, and other terms related to Internet addiction and dependency.

Data Analysis:
This study focuses on information and related study, used to help proponents to find some important
information that is associated as relevant to the system being proposed. For justification and
clarification the studies and literature that had been written was based on internet and studied by the
researchers. The word above are concisely revised by the researchers and absolutely not imitated by the
written of the indicated articles.
