Introduce and show the Ruth video

Bible reading:

Ruth Ch 2. This book is only 4 pages made up of a single story. So this week, just go around the
room having the children read 2 or three times then stop. Most places to stop are the same. The
story is well covered in the video and we only need comparisons.

Feel free to add, shorten or change this reading which may be necessary based on the length and
content of the Bible video you use. But keep in mind that the suggested verses in this section and
all following sections may need to be lengthened or shortened based on available class time.
The names of Moab and Amon have not been mentioned in previous lessons. These are the two
sons of Lot and their descendents settled here. Feel free to mention it now or just skip it. Circle
the names of Boaz and Ruth.

Bethlehem is where Boaz (and Naomi) are from meaning that he is of the tribe of Judah and he is
in the lineage to Jesus.

Specific questions:

1. What is the name of the woman from Moab this story is about? Ruth
2. What is the name of Ruth’s mother-in-law? Naomi
3. What is the name of Ruth’s husband who lived in Bethlehem? Boaz
4. Name 2 bodies of water separating Israel from Moab? Dead Sea and Jordan River

Open ended questions:

1. Did anyone see any difference between what was on the video and what we read in the
Bible? (On the first and second class, tell the kids that this question is coming as we start the
video.)
2. What was the best thing you saw from either the video or the Bible reading?
3. Where do you see God’s love for the Hebrew people and Ruth?
