OPERATIONAL PLAN

FACILITIES AND SPACE NEEDED :

Space of the children section will require better management along with an alluring area. Flooring
and display should echo a sense of affability towards children. The area for the magazine should be
augmented to avoid thronging and to look more sorted and comfortable.
Area of Arts, reference, social science can be reduced and allocated to India and Management
section. Seating area and the furnishings should be soothing to the customers.
The display in the children section should be improved by using cartoon characters and better
flooring. A new section of Graphic Novels can be introduced.

TECHNOLOGY NEEDS :

The use of mediums like sms or e-mails needs to be pitched up to create more reach among the
audience. Digital mediums need promotion as it's the most convenient way to entice new comers.
Proper lighting is required to make things vivid and music is required in store to appease the
readers.

EQUIPMENT NEEDS :

New books and bestsellers are most preferred by the target audience so it needs to be in highlight to
gain attention and also merchandise like laptop bags, chocolates near the cash counter, improved
stationery, celebrity posters, etc can be added to satisfy impulsive buyers and it also presents a
customer with more facilities and more friendly space.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT :

The more production of books can lead to more degradation of the environment, therefore second
hand books that are not inscrutable and not in an extremely bad condition are made available.
For example the cost of an average book is Rs. 100 then the selling price for that book will also be
cut down to Rs. 30 - 50 depending upon the book size, author, quality, original price, etc. But while
selling the book from our shop, we will increase the amount. This is a benefit for us as well as the
buyers. The give and take away feature also helps to encourage more readers to buy more
hardcover books. The books can be taken from people willing to share their stocks, or on rent, the
shipment cost can be managed accordingly.
In this pandemic time, when online purchasing may have gone down in the list of priorities, second
hand books offer an eco-friendly and vital option.

LOGISTICS AND DISTRIBUTION PLANS :

It should be made sure that books are available to the demand, the target audience and the popular
books among them should be maximized in stocks to keep the engagement of readers and store
intact. High quality demands of books require sales logisticians to keep shipping and delivery costs
as low as possible. In concrete terms, the aim is to reduce costs associated with transport, storage,
shortage and order processing. At the same time, however, delivery is to become faster, more
energy-efficient and more environmentally friendly.

ORDER AND FULFILMENT PROCESS :

QUALITY CONTROL CHECKS :

It should be regularly made sure books are in approachable and lucid condition for readers. The
quality of pages and fragility should be inspected too. A regular review from readers on how they feel
about the management is necessary to ensure the intact standard of deliverance. The review on
charts of popularity of books in different genres should be maintained to make sure stores are
updated with decline or increase in production.

LEGAL AND ACCOUNTING NEEDS :

This should be irrefutably watched, that area abides the laws of public places, decency and morality.
The area should follow legal obligations and books in stock shall be of no suspicion in the eyes of
law. Accounts need to be maintained to keep a record of progress and profit/loss and also to make
