EXECUTIVE SUMMARY.

Readers Haven Akili bookshop LTD is a new business that will be located in kisii town,kisii
county opposite st Jude's plaz stationery,type,the specialty materials and printing costs involved,
the design fee on top of it, plus taxes and shipping/ handling cost.The bookshop is owned and
managed by Mr.Shash Carson, a Senior librarian at Nairobi educational center. The mananger
has over 30 years experience in the field of management of teaching and and instructional
design materials. We opened ourr first bookshop in 1998 in Nairobi under the name shash
bookshop and our second in Mombasa in 2008. Although praised for the quality of many of the
stationery,we have attained a special notoriety in the market industry. After years of requests
for our services,we have decided to pursue marketing these products here at kisii town to
compliment our customers demands supply.We intend to have the products available in six
other towns, including Kisumu, Eldoret,Nakuru,kakamega and machakos.Special attention has
been given to developing an attractive label that will stress the industry.Distribution of our
services will begin in the local area since we have established name and reputation in this area,
and product introduction should encounter little resistance.Financial analysis show that the
bookshop will have both a positive impact on our services .The expected return on equity in the
first year is 10.88% we will also employ competent, skilled and talented graduates from Kisii in
running and growing the business.

Akili bookshop is a growth-oriented business. Its five year goal isto become a regional leader in
stationery world with shops in Kisii town and its sub-counties.The objectives over the next four
years for Akili bookshop Ltd are the follows:

 Achieve steady growth in sales and marketing by the end of four years.

 Achieve local market share in meeting demands and supplies for all our customers.

 Expand product and services to international space.

Our vision is to inspire, engage, and delight our customers with a carefully curated selection
of books, fostering a community of passionate readers in our neighborhood and be the world's
leading online retailer in stationery services, where customers can find anything they want to
buy online by visiting one site.

At Akili bookshop Bookstore, we will be dedicated to providing a haven for book lovers, where
the world of literature comes to life,to provide our customers with the most convenient
shopping experience where they can find the widest selection of stationery products and
brands at the most competitive prices.

The data obtained for the start-up table comes from research done in the Kisii town with other
bookstore shops who have started their own business, also we have done it in realtion to our
previous experience within the market where inflation has been taken into account between the
estimates of these comrade business owner on the basis when they started and the current
prices for items. Much of the equipment to go into the facilities such as rent, salaries and stock
purchase.

Personal Savings: Our initial kickstart capital is our own savings towards the commitment of our
business.
Loans:Another source of our funds is bank loans,we will lias with kcb bank for a small scale
business unit at friendly repayable installment.

Other sources will come from venture capitalists, crowdfunding from platforms like Kickstarter
grants and Contests,Family and Friends,government agencies that support small businesses or

Distribution of our stationery will begin in the local area. We will establish a name and
reputation in the area, this will indicate that we are willing to carry the products. The letters of
intent and endorsement are included in the Appendix section. It will be important to note that
our bookshop will put an emphasis on genreral stationery standard items.Kisii and it's
surrounding towns, will be take public participation Demonstration Program administered by the
county's educational stakeholders .This program will enable Shash Carson ,our manager to
share the business idea with metropolitan area and create more favorable market conditions.

3.8 Sourcing for stationery.
