1. Determine the pressure in psi at a depth of 20’ below the frees surface of a body of water.

2. Determine the pressure at a depth of 9m in oil of specific gravity 0.750.

3. Find the absolute pressure in psi in problem 2 where the barometer reads 29.90 in of mercury, specific gravity of
mercury is 13.57.

4. What depth of oil, specific gravity of 0.750 will produce a pressure of 40 psi? What depth of water?

5. Find the pressure at the bottom of a tank containing glycerin (sg = 12.34) under pressure:

10. The areas of the plunger A and cylinder B are 6.00 and 600 in2, respectively, and the weight of B is 9000 lb.
The vessel and the connecting passages are filled with oil of specific gravity 0.750. What force F is required
for equilibrium, neglecting the weight of A?

The deflection of the mercury in the gage is 1.92 ft, the level nearer A being the lower one. Calculate the
difference in pressure in psi between sections A and B.

17. The loss through a device X is to be measured by a differential gage using oil of specific gravity 0.750
as the gage fluid. The flowing liquid has sp gr 1.50. Find the change in pressure head between A and B
for the deflection of the oil.

29. Vessel A, at elevation 2.438 m, contains water under 103.4 kPa pressure. Vessel B, at elevation 3.658 m,
