LEARNING OUTLINE
LESSON

1. Recap the previous lesson on the phonemes /ɪә/, /eә/, /ʊә/ and /ɜ:/.
PRE-

2. Show the flashcards and have pupils read the words aloud.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT 3. Activity 1:
a. Teacher distribute word cards to each pupil. Teacher say a word and articulate the phoneme.
b. Pupils who have the word card show the word card, say the word and articulate the phoneme.
c. Next, the other pupils say the word and articulate the phoneme.
4. Activity 2:
a. Teacher call a group of pupils to the front and give them a word card each.
b. Teacher say a word. The pupil holding the respective card will read out and segment the word.
c. The other pupils repeat.
5. Activity 3:
a. Teacher plays a game with pupils. Teacher writes the phoneme and get pupils to segment words.
