Reflection

12/13 students met the standard

One student was absent.

As their teacher, conversations between students and me were very prominent

during this lesson. We were discovering the different ideas of war and its place in
the world. The students were encouraged to ask their questions, and they were not
afraid of taking risks in our classroom. Even if it seemed like side conversations,
nothing is off the table when it comes to learning from everyone in the room. The
students stayed engaged throughout the lesson and interacted more than I ever
expected.

Teaching Standards and Rationale

Standard 3 Learning Environments 3(q)

The community that was seen during this lesson is something every teacher hopes to have. I
seek to foster respectful communication among all members of the classroom. Students are
continuously encouraged to share their thoughts and ask any questions they might have. If an
educator has created a safe and welcoming environment, students will feel comfortable in
exploring their own identities.
