PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION QUIZ BEE GENERAL MECHANICS:

1. The quiz bee is open to all PSU-BC BPA students except for the event’s committee
members. It will feature eight (8) teams composed of four (4) participants each.
2. Each BPA block must have two (2) participants only. They shall register to their class
representative until February 24, 2022, 2 PM.
3. Since the overall BPA blocks is 16, there will be a total of 32 participants which will be
divided by the organizers into 8 groups. Each group must have 1 freshman, 1 sophomore,
1 junior and 1 senior.
4. Once the registration is complete, a messenger group chat will be created, with all the
organizers and participants, to announce the groupings made.
5. The quiz bee will be held face-to-face at the Benigno Aldana Gymnasium on February
28, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3 pm. All participants must arrive at the venue fifteen (15)
minutes before the start time. An immediate disqualification will be put into effect for those
teams who do not arrive ten (10) minutes after the scheduled start of the competition.
6. Two (2) Quiz Masters, a timer, and a scorer shall be assigned to facilitate the
competition.
7. The event organizers will provide an illustration board, chalk and eraser for every group.
8. The quiz bee will be divided into three (3) rounds: the Easy, Average and Difficult.
Below are the corresponding number of items, points and time allotment for answering
each item.

9. The questions to be asked for the quiz bee will revolve in all topics that are covered in
the Public Administration course (including, among others, the Philippine bureaucracy,
constitutional provisions, local government, current events and general knowledge on
Public Administration).

10. The Quiz Master shall read each question only twice. Only after he/she has said the
word “Go” may the countdown timer will start and the participants may begin writing their
answers on the illustration board. After the time limit, the time buzzer will be pressed and
the contestants must stop writing. They should immediately raise their answer for
checking.
11. Any question or protest regarding the correctness of the answers should be raised
before the start of the next question.
12. Misbehavior by a team during a contest is a sufficient ground for disqualification.
13. After the tallying of scores, in case of a tie, a clincher round will take place with 5
points each question.
14. The top three (3) groups with the highest scores shall be declared as the Champion,
1st placer and 2nd placer respectively.
15. The winning teams will be awarded in the awarding closing ceremony of BPA Days.
