What’s New
What’s More
1. Sender
The sender of the given situation is the lost woman who is wearing a Niqab. She initiated
a conversation by transmitting a message to the deaf woman who is the receiver.
2. Message
The message that the sender sent was asking for directions. She transmitted a message by
asking the deaf woman for directions on how to get to the destination she was going to.
3. Encoding
At first, the sender tried to speak to the receiver, but as she found out that the receiver
was deaf, she used actions and gestures to convey the message. Through the use of
gestures, she was able to express the idea that she wants to tell the receiver.
4. Channel
The two were initially communing through a speech-translating device, but as several
noises intervened, they communed through gestures.
5. Receiver
The deaf woman is the receiver.
6. Decoding
Through the gestures and signals actioned by the sender, the deaf receiver was able to
understand the message.
7. Feedback
As the receiver understood the message, she was able to cater the needs of the sender.
She gave a ticket for the ride and pointed out the train that is going to her desired
destination.
8. Noise
There are several noises that led to an interruption to their communication and these are
the following: the thunderous sound caused by the train; and the public announcement
broadcasted through a speaker.
