MEETING MINUTES
December 22, 2022 / 1:00 PM

1. OPENING
The first official meeting for the organization was called to conduct on December 22, 2022, 1
o’clock in the afternoon held at Yamie’s Beach Resort, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Tanauan, Leyte.

4. ACTIVITIES
 Prayer.
 The members have performed the ice-breaking activities to know each other through introducing
themselves, sharing of background, achievements, mediums in art and other related experiences.
 Discussion of agenda items headed by the organization leader, Mr. Aldrin Mercado.
 Random talks and sharing of techniques, of which, pertains to art.
 Snacks.

5. DISCUSSION
 Agenda Item #1: Introducing the Organization
Tanauan Artists’ Guild, Inc. (TAN-AG) needs to be heard and acknowledged by the
Local Government Unit (LGU), Tanauananons or even the general public. In line with this, Mr.
Aldrin Mercado had a talk beforehand with SB Member Hon. Mae Jane Morabe- Borais, who, is
willing to support in establishing the organization.

 Agenda Item #2: Member Recruitment


It was observed that the organization have quite few members as of the moment.

 Agenda Item #3: Free Art Workshop


The Tanauan Artists’ Guild, Inc. (TAN-AG) will be conducting a Free Art Workshop to
children/ teens in random schools during the Philippines National Art Month on February 2023.
The said workshop aims to promote expression and creativity. The participation in the arts may
even assist kids with language, motor skills and visual learning development.

 Agenda Item #4: Art Exhibit


Art is a reflection of society, culture and emotion. In line with this, the Tanauan Artists’
Guild, Inc. (TAN-AG) is given the opportunity to conduct an art exhibit at the Tanauan
Municipal Hall. These artworks will be open for public viewing and be sold to potential buyers.

 Agenda Item #5: Expenses


Of course, art materials are expensive and the members themselves won’t be able to
provide everything at once.

6. ACTION ITEMS
 Agenda Item #1: Introducing the Organization
Therefore, the organization shall make an official Facebook page c/o Mr. Haley
Capilitan. Other members are encouraged to help in making future pub mats, captions and
announcements, as well as in power sharing of posts. A Facebook page is indeed an excellent
way for the organization to connect to its audience whilst promoting events, share information
and help the organization’s authority & reputation. This can also serve as an open
communication channel for the audience to respond back or ask questions. Thus, this will also
serve as a platform in showcasing the talent of all members.

 Agenda Item #2: Member Recruitment


Everyone is encouraged to invite other artists who are willing to be part of the
organization.

 Agenda Item #3: Free Art Workshop


This workshop will be conducted for the whole month of February 2023- every Sunday.
(February 5, 12, 19 and 26). It was then proposed to conduct the first workshop at Tanauan
National High School on February 5, 2023. As for the rest, there were no chosen schools yet.

 Agenda Item #4: Art Exhibit


As part of the meeting, the leader has set a minimum size of canvas of at least 24 x 24
inches. The larger canvases, the better. Also, the concept of the exhibit would be anything that
symbolizes or represents Tanauan. It may be a painting of clay pots or ‘daba’, or with someone
molding it, a pedicab driver in the streets of Tanauan, our local fishermen, farmers, or the
Yolanda commemoration structure in Calogocog, the churches, plaza- and still goes on the list.

 Agenda Item #5: Expenses


In line with this, Hon. Mae Jane Morabe- Borais said that she can also help the organization
through sponsorship from people with kind hearts. Also, take note that members may at least
have to contribute just for a little amount though.

7. ADJOURNMENT
 The meeting was adjourned at 3:45 PM. Hence, the leader declared the adjournment with a short
closing remark.

8. NEXT MEETING
 There will be a meeting before the workshop around the first week, exact date to be further
announced.
 It was also noted that Hon. Mae Jane Morabe- Borais would like to talk with the Tanauan
Artists’ Guild, Inc. (TAN-AG) members in the future.
