prior to the issuance of an engineering Permit.
Provide shop drawing for review and approval.
Provide copy of a Notice of Intent (NOI) as submitted to DEP.
Provide Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan. (SWPPP) Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
Provide an M.O.T. ( Maintenance Of Traffic) approved plan from Broward County.

B.1.- TRAFFIC CODE REQUIREMENTS

Provide Traffic impact study showing traffic movement generated by the proposed project including types and peak hours and duration of traffic movement. Sec. 10-126(a)
Access to traffic ways shall be designed in compliance with all agencies having jurisdiction. Sec. 10-126(e)
Provide a copy of Broward County's report and recommendations. This project requires Broward County Engineering and Traffic Engineering approval.
Provide a copy of FDOT's report and recommendation. This project requires FDOT Engineering and Traffic Engineering approval.
All arterial and principal collectors and median openings shall be striped in accordance with the latest FDOT Standards for Pavement Markings, and the MUTCD for Streets and Sec. 10-181(b) (5)
Highways.
Proposed medians for turn lanes shall include pavers (tan red blend "Corinth Pattern B square" rectangular interlocking concrete pavers by "Pavers Module" (or equal)) on Sec. 10-181(b) (2)
minimum of 1-1/2" sand setting bed over compacted sub grade.
Provide 25 ft min. of 6" Double yellow stripping at all locations where stops signs and stop bars are proposed.
Add note to the plans: Standards of materials, installation and lettering shall be in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Sec. 10-190 (b)
streets and Highways, current edition and its addenda.

Use posted signs and markers as necessary to ensure sufficient traffic operation of the lot.
All roadway construction shall be conform with applicable city ordinances, construction standards and specifications published by the office of the City Engineer. Sec. 10-181(b) (2)

Provide median strips and landscaped spaces dividing opposing traffic for all streets within the city wherein the dedicated right-of-way is one hundred six (106) feet or greater. Sec. 10-184(a)
Entranceways shall be are properly aligned.
The distance between two driveways (existing and/or proposed) entering on a public street from a particular property shall not be less than one hundred and twenty five (125) feet. Sec. 24-580 (g)

The frontage width of a commercial lot fronting on a traffic way shall not be less than two hundred (200) feet unless one (1) of the following conditions is met: a. Access to the lot Sec. 10-126(e)
is limited to streets other than traffic ways.; b. Access to the lot is provided jointly with other lots created as part of the same development or another development.; c. Access
to the lot is provided from a frontage road paralleling the traffic way.
Proposed driveway shall not be in the radius return of an intersection. Sec. 24-580 (i)
Sight distance visibility triangle shall be plotted at every road intersection and main driveway connection. Sec. 24-580 (j)
Double drives shall be separated by a minimum of twenty (20) feet or as required so that the driveway return radii do not overlap. Sec. 10-186(c) (2)
A minimum distance of twenty-five (25) feet shall be observed between the right-of-way line and parallel interior drives. Sec. 24-578 (a) (8)

All street pavement within the city shall consist of a minimum of an eight-inch(compacted thickness) and a minimum of a one inch(compacted Sec. 10-181(b) (7)

SIDEWALK AND PARKING CODE REQUIREMENTS

Provide pedestrian sidewalks for new construction sites (at least 4 feet wide on-site, and at least 5 feet wide off-site, at least 4" thick, except 6" thick over driveways, concrete Sec. 10-188(a) &
strength of minimum 3000 psi at 28-days). Sec. 10-181(a)(9)
Clearly indicate proposed and existing sidewalks.
Proposed and existing sidewalks shall be connected from the public transportation system to the internal sidewalk network that connects to the main entrance of buildings. Sec. 10-181(b) (2)

Provide ramp curbs on sidewalk at driveway entrance (FDOT index304).


Parking stalls shall not be directly accessible from public way. Ingress and Egress for parking shall be limited to driveway entrances.

Mark all parking lots to indicate individual spaces


All parking bays shall have a forward means of egress, except that all ninety-degree parking bays less than ten (10) cars in length without a forward means of egress have a six- Sec. 24-578 (a) (6)
foot backup area at the end of the bay in lieu of a forward means of egress.

Provide wheel stops ( 6 ft for thirty degree parking and 7 ft for other) or a continuous concrete curbs to protect landscaped areas from encroachment by vehicles. Sec. 24-578 (b) (2)
Parking space dimension shall be nine (9) feet in width and eighteen (18) feet in length, or meet angled parking and parallel parking minimum dimension requirements for Sec. 24-580 (b) (2)
residential area.
Parking space dimension shall be ten (10) feet in width and eighteen (18) feet in length, or meet angled parking and parallel parking minimum dimension requirements for Sec. 24-580 (b) (2)
commercial area.
This parking lot exceeds sixty (60) parking stalls. At least one (1) two-way directional driveway loop system connecting the entrances to the parking stalls and the principal
building shall be designed.
Provide sufficient setback between the pavement edge of the public roadway and the edge of proposed internal drive as determined by the City Engineer for large parking lots
where hourly volumes of entering traffic may be expected to be high.
A one-hundred-foot stacking lane(s) shall be provided (only for Banks, Savings and Loans, and Restaurants having drive-in window facilities) for each window (free of adjacent Sec. 24-578 (d)
parking stalls and associated backup lanes).

Provide a minimum backup distance of twenty (20) feet between property lines or interior drives and the first parking stall. Sec. 24-578 (a) (9)

LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING CODE REQUIREMENTS

Provide a standard installation detail for all proposed light poles.
All designs for lighting shall meet, at a minimum, the I.E.S.N.A. Standard Practice for Street and Highway Lighting, latest edition. Sec. 10-191(b)
All proposed luminaries shall be, at a minimum, of nine thousand five hundred (9,500) lumen lights, mounted on concrete poles. Sec. 10-191(b)
The intensity of illumination shall be an average of one (1) foot-candle equal to one (1) lumen per square foot, and is well distributed on the pavement areas; however, at no point Sec. 24-579 (a) (2)
is proposed illumination less than one-fourth foot-candle.
Spillover shall not exceed three (3) foot-candles vertical and one (1) foot-candle horizontal illumination on adjacent properties or structures measured at grade Sec. 24-579 (a) (7)

A minimum of 15 feet radius shall be observed between any proposed lighting fixtures and proposed trees as measured at maturity.
Add Note to the Plans: All proposed utility lines (FPL power lines, telephone, cable television, etc.), including service lines to individual properties necessary to serve the Sec. 10-206
development under consideration, shall be installed underground at least eighteen (18) inches below the finished ground elevation.
Show all existing utilities (FPL power lines, telephone, cable television, etc.) In addition provide documentation from utility companies confirming proposed improvements will not
be in conflict with existing utilities.
Add a Standard Note to the Plans: Proposed Light Poles shall observe a 2.5' clearance from all paved areas and Light Poles shall be able to withstand sustained 140 MPH wind
loads.
Add note to the plans: The parcel proposed for land clearing or development does not serve as habitat for a rare, threatened or endangered species or a species of special Sec.10-48(b)
concern; or is not an environmentally sensitive area.
Show all water and sewer, services and appurtenances and all utilities easements in gray on Landscaping plan. Note that proposed landscaping shall not be located within utility
easements.
Provide irrigation plans for areas requiring public landscaping and irrigation.

Landscaping, except required grass or ground cover, shall not be located closer than five ( 5 ) feet from the edge of any roadway pavement, and three ( 3) feet from the edge
of any alley or driveway pavement.

PAVING CODE REQUIREMENTS

No catch basins, crosswalks, meter boxes, sewer cleanouts or other similar-type structures shall be located in the driveway entrance. Sec. 24-580 (i)
Proposed driveway pavements shall be consisted of a minimum of 1-1/2" compacted asphaltic concrete surface within the City right-of-way and 1" for other paved area over an Sec. 10-181(b) (7)
eight-inch limerock layer (as compacted) over a twelve-inch subgrade (as compacted).

Clearly label type of proposed curbs (Type D, Type F or Concrete valley gutter). Sec. 20-61to 64
Existing and proposed curbs shall be clearly labeled.

A concrete header curb, Type F Curb and Gutter, or Type D curb shall be provided at all driveway entrances the full width of the radius. Sec. 20-64
Provide cross section along driveway and parking area.

Proposed driveway grades shall not exceed three (3) percent. The maximum slope immediately beyond the right-of-way line does not change in excess of five (5) percent for Sec. 24-580 (i)
either angle of approach or breakover angle.

Add note to the Plans: Vegetation, muck and any deleterious material within the right-of-way limits of all streets and alleys and required off-street parking areas must be removed Sec. 10-182(a)
and replaced with clean fill material, free of stumps, large roots or other matter not suitable for inclusion in roadway fill.
Add a Standard Note to the Plans: The asphalt surface course shall not be placed until as-built drawings of the limerock base have been submitted and approved by the
Engineer-of-Record and the City Engineer or designee.
Add Standard Note to the plans: The finished surface of the base course and that of the wearing surface shall not vary more than 0.04 foot from the approved grading plan
(template) and all areas shall be graded to drain. Any irregularities exceeding this limit shall be corrected prior to paving.
Subgrade density shall be 98% (min.) AASHTO T-180 and LBR 40.
Limerock density shall be 98% (min.) AASHTO T-180 and LBR 100.
Minimum longitudinal slope of pavement shall be at 0.4%.
Minimum transverse slope of pavement shall be at 2% for roadways and 1 - 5% for parking areas. Handicap parking and accessible routes shall not exceed 2%

Include pavement restoration standard detail and specifications.


Use City of Tamarac Standard details and General Notes.

DRAINAGE CODE REQUIREMENTS

Plans shall contain existing and proposed physical site features, including waterways, lakes, water canal courses, and drainage facilities. Sec. 10-47(c) (10)

Plans shall contain existing and proposed topographical information with elevation showing one-foot changes in vertical elevations. Note that the proposed grades shall clearly Sec. 10-47(c) (10)
define direction of storm water runoff.

Provide a storm drainage system that will drain the entire site to positive outlets that can be legally maintained in permanent use or into a public drainage system of adequate Sec. 10-221(a)
capacity which discharges into such positive outlets, including all rights-of-way, easements and necessary construction at no expense to the city.
Plans shall provide drainage boundaries, including all adjacent off site areas draining into the proposed project site.
Preliminary data of the drainage system (stage storage and pipe sizing calculations) are submitted along with the construction plans in a report form Sec. 10-221(b)
prepared by the Engineer of Record indicating the method of control of stormwater and groundwater, including the method of drainage, existing
water elevations, recurring high-water elevations, proposed design water elevations, drainage structures, canals, ditches and other pertinent
information associated with the system
Provide preliminary drainage calculations (stage storage) to support the proposed storm water infrastructure, including applicable retention calculations to support an additional Sec. 10-221(b)-(1)
9,125 cu. Ft. of retainage per acre of development below 10.00 NVGD. Note that a storm drainage system shall be provided to drain the entire site to positive outlets.

Plans shall provide preliminary Rim Elevation for catch basin.


Provide pipe sizes, materials, lengths and invert elevations
Maximum pipe length between access points shall not exceed 300 ft for 15" to 18" pipes, 400 ft for 24" to 36" pipes and 500 ft for pipes larger than 36"

Minimum size of proposed drainage pipe shall be 15 inches.


Exfiltration trenches shall be designed in accordance with the South Florida Water Management District's Permit information Manual " Management and Storage of Surface
Waters", latest edition.
Final calculations for dimensioning exfiltration trenches shall be based on actual soil permeability test performed on site.
Exfiltration system shall not be used in public right-of-ways or any public facility.
Use baffle on both inlet sides of catch basin for exfiltration trenches
Provide 30" minimum clearance access inside catch basins between baffles.
Add note to the plans: Geotextile materials used in the construction of exfiltration trenches shall be in accordance with the criteria of FDOT "Roadway and Traffic Design
Standards", latest edition, Index no. 199
The bottom of all dry detention areas used for the purpose of additional storage shall not be lower than elevation 8.0 MSL
Pipe and Culvert Ends shall have concrete headwalls to protect from undermining and provide a readily maintainable entrance/exit for stormwater flow.
Rip-rap is not an acceptable means of end protection or soil stabilization.
Add note to the plans: All structures having a lid or grate located in a grassy area shall have a two foot concrete apron all around to prevent the grass from covering the top.

Add note to the plans: All inlets shall be protected from sediment laden storm runoff until completion of all construction operations that may contribute sediment to the inlet.

Acceptable pipe material for use on private property are: RCP, and HDPE.
Minimum cover for all drainage pipes shall not be less than thirty ( 30 ) inches.

Provide grading information for dry detention area showing direction of flow.

Provide cross-sectional views along and across the proposed retention area.
Proposed dry retention area shall be seeded to allow better percolation and sodded only within a 3 ft diameter of the proposed basin.
Minimum size for culvert connection between water bodies shall be 36 inches.
Swale shall be 8 ft minimum width, 6 inches deep and longitudinal slope of 0.4%.

Cross Section of Dry Retention Areas shall be provided with slopes of 3:1 or flatter.

Details for outfall connection to water bodies shall be clearly detailed.


Provide existing site information - Topographic Survey (Signed, Dated and Sealed by Professional Land Surveyor).
Provide minimum Finish Floor elevation.
Quantities shown in Certified Cost Estimate shall match quantities in proposed plans.

LAKE, CANALS AND BOAT RAMPS

Canals intended to be dedicated to the public have a minimum right-of-way width of eighty (80) feet. Sec. 10-231 (a)
Provide Canal Cross Section with Slopes 4:1 or flatter.
Lakes intended to be dedicated to the public shall have a minimum surface water width of one hundred fifty (150) feet. Sec. 10-231 (a)
Show a maintenance easement twenty (20) feet in width (to be dedicated) adjacent to the entire boundary of the proposed lake or canal. Sec. 10-231 (b)
Provide seawalls on the perimeter of all proposed canals and lakes or the canals and lakes cross sections meet the minimum design criteria as defined by the City Engineer. Sec. 10-231

WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM CODE REQUIREMENTS

Provide provisions for future connections for adjacent properties.
No permanent structures including landscaping shall be located above water supply easement.

Water main valves shall be located so that a break at any point in the system may be isolated without causing interruption to service of more than 2 residential blocks or more
than 1 commercial or business block.

Maintain a minimum 6 feet horizontal separation between water and sewer systems.

Maintain a minimum 18" vertical separation for all utility crossings.

Water meter size shall be minimum 5/8" for residential and 1" for commercial.

Water service line Tap shall be minimum 1 inch.


Identify bacteriological Sampling Points (AWWA C-601)

Identify top-of-pipe elevation of water main every 100 feet.

Water mains shall be either PVC C-900 or DIP

Minimum water main diameter shall be 8 inches.


Water main valves shall be at or less than 1000 linear feet of pipe in residential areas and at or less than 800 linear feet of pipe for commercial.

incorporated into, or applied to, the pipe wall; and underground metal or concrete pipe shall have blue stripes applied to the pipe wall. Pipe striped during manufacturing of the
pipe shall have continuous stripes that run parallel to the axis of the pipe, that are located at no greater than 90-degree intervals around the pipe, and that will remain intact
during and after installation of the pipe. If tape or paint is used to stripe pipe during installation of the pipe, the tape or paint shall be applied in a continuous line that runs parallel
to the axis of the pipe and that is located along the top of the pipe; for pipes with an internal diameter of 24 inches or greater, tape or paint shall be applied in continuous lines
along each side of the pipe as well as along the top of the pipe. Aboveground pipe at drinking water treatment plants shall be color coded and labeled in accordance with

SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM CODE REQUIREMENTS

Show all existing and proposed sewer mains, services and appurtenances and all utilities and easements (20 ft for sewer) in gray scale on the Site Plan

Provide preliminary off-site plan showing existing sanitary sewer system and proposed tie-in location.
No permanent structures including landscaping shall be located above sanitary system.

Provide wastewater flow calculations prior to Site plan approval.


Include signed and sealed copies of City of Tamarac Utilities Standard details.

Ensure necessary sewer availability.


Identify proposed sanitary sewer laterals and clean-outs.

Add Standard Note to Sewer plans: Ownership and maintenance of the sanitary system by the City of Tamarac is limited to the mains from manhole to manhole and expressly
excludes sewer lateral services. The sewer lateral service from the gravity main into the building is to be maintained by the property owner.
An executed Water and Sewer Developer’s Agreement is required prior to the issuance of an Engineering permit. In addition, payment of Water and Sewer CIAC fees in
accordance with the rates established by Resolution R-98-136 or the latest rates in effect at the time of Commission Approval is required prior to the issuance of an Engineering
permit.

Provide top-of-pipe and bottom-of-pipe elevations for all utility crossings.

Gravity sewer pipe shall be PVC SDR-35 or better. Minimum diameter: 8 inches for main, 6 inches for lateral.

Minimum slope shall be 0.4%for gravity sewer mains.


Minimum slope requirements for sanitary sewer laterals shall be 1%
Minimum 6 inches thick gravel bedding shall be required for all gravity sewer pipes and manholes.

Manhole shall be precast concrete in accordance with ASTM C-478. Maximum thickness 8 inches. Minimum thickness 6 inches . Base extension outside the wall of manhole.

Drop manhole shall be required for greater than 2-foot drop.

Minimum 0.10' invert fall between manholes within straight invert elevations.

Minimum 0.05' invert fall if pipes change direction.


Provide a gravity sewer profiles sheet including rim and invert elevations, slope, and all utility crossings.

Sewer cleanouts shall be located at the property line for all sewer laterals.
Sewer force Main minimum diameter shall be 4 inches DIP.

Identify connections to public sewer systems.


Provide field survey of existing manholes.

Pumps shall be 3-phase, 60-cycle electric motors.

Pump capacity calculation: peak flow factor 2.5 min.

Minimum sphere size to pass the pump shall be 3 inches

Pump cycle shall be 10 minutes minimum.

Air bubbler to be used for switching the pump; 1 additional Mercury switch in hanging floats shall be installed.
