unselfish cooperation of many individuals.”

katahimikan, at kaayusan.

makilahok.

With everything that has happened in our planet, particularly the recent NASA climate scientists protest, I am
determined that the best health career for me is that of an environmental specialist. Guy McPherson once stated “If you
really think the environment is less important than the economy, try holding your breath while you count your money.” -
consequently, I realized, we only have this planet, and with everything that has been unfolding, the greatest thing I can
do to fulfill my mission, responsibilities and aspiration in life and for my family is to improve matters, save, protect and
conserve the ecosystem, for this is our only home, without the Earth, we are nothing. I want to be an environmental
specialist primarily which I can contribute to the care that our nature deserves, but most interestingly, to be a tool, in
order for the future generations to be able to experience, see, and dwell in what we call a better and healthier
environment.

When one's profession is linked with their objectives, they are more likely to put up the effort necessary to execute their
chosen job while also learning and acquiring essential knowledge and skills that will enable them to perform their jobs
with enthusiasm, commitment, and determination. Furthermore, when one's interests and expertise align with a health-
care career path, they will be more productive and have better chemistry with their coworkers and field, resulting in
increased job satisfaction, organizational commitment and better job performance. Furthermore, aligning the
aforementioned aspects is critical and hugely beneficial since it increases one's chances of earning more money as it is a
profession that comes naturally to them due to their notable capabilities.

Ann Wigmore once said, “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine of the slowest
form of poison.” Similar to others, the final task given for this fourth quarter was also challenging, however, this task
needs more patience and determination to accomplish unlike the previous ones. The preparation and cooking stages
were the ones I truly like amidst the fact that cooking the dish was tiresome, challenging and time consuming. While for
the dish to be cooked, I was scrolling through my face book’s newsfeed and I came up with the latest events today, from
the climate change, to the scientists being caught and to the Sri Lanka bankruptcy, a thought entered my mind. With
everything that has been happening, life and health are indeed crucial. The food we intake are who we are, if we want to
live longer, we need to stop eating unhealthy food such as processed foods, and by doing this, we can also save our very
own planet. Come to think of it, what would be the purpose of our life if we don’t have a healthy and livable planet to
live in? Carbohydrates play a significant role in our diet and they can usually be found in crops and plants, on which are
transformed or used in making the foods like rice, noodles, cereals, bread and many more, thus, we need to plant more
crop and plants. Planting plants, especially trees, cannot only benefit us humans, but also the animals and most
importantly, the nature itself. In addition, from what I read, if we want to stay healthy and free from diseases, we must
consume foods in a balanced diet, which means that we should not intake too much meat or other sources of protein for
extra protein may impose a metabolic burden on the bones, kidneys, and liver. Moreover, high-protein/high-meat diets
may also be associated with increased risk for coronary heart disease. The good side of consuming meat is that, animals
won’t be in risk of being extinct plus they will be able to perform their duty in the environment and most of all, balanced
our ecosystem.

A response in obedience to Jesus’ missionary by transforming humanity and making them anew with Christ by bringing
the Gospel into all the areas of humanity for the sole purpose of conversion through the divine power and influence.

As the world becomes modern, people tend to find happiness and satisfaction in material things. With the new
evangelization, this type of people will be reminded of the fact that they have forgotten – in order to find the eternal
and genuine joy in our heart, we must put Jesus Christ as the center of our life. Ones people are evangelized, there will
be more goodness to the world and the needs of others will be heard, for the people will become more sensitive to the
pleas and calls of others.
1. The MassKara Festival can trace its roots back to the 1980s and was born out of a crisis. The festival originated in
Bacolod – a city located on the northwest coast of Negros Island.
2. MassKara Festival is an annual fete that is being celebrated in the month of October, with highlights being held
every 4th Sunday of the said month in the province’s capital.
3. With the two extreme massive tragedies the province of Negros faced in the past, the MassKara Festival was
their way of escaping the grief they were feeling and hide the tears that they were shedding. The sole ground of
why the said festival is being carried and pass on is to uplift the spirits of the locals and bring back the smiles on
their faces. As decades of years passed by, the festival has become a declaration of the people, not just the
locals, but so on the visitors and tourists from the different areas of the world that they will rise and survive the
challenges and tragedies that they are facing, showing their resilience and tenacity.
4. Similar to other festivals around the country, everybody is encouraged to joy and showcase their talents. The
people of Bacolod, most especially are the ones involved in dancing. However, aside from that, they are also the
ones partaking in different aspects of the said celebration, such as organization, preparation, launching and
overall outcome and success of the Masskara festival.

The MassKara Festival of Bacolod City is one the biggest festivals in the Philippines. Believe it or not, the festival has
been giving local and international visitors the chance to have fun, drink, and party on the streets of Bacolod for over 30
years now! This annual festival, which is similar to Brazil’s Rio Carnival, literally translates to “many faces,” and is
celebrated every October in Bacolod, with its highlight being held every 4th Sunday of the said month in the province’s
capital. The festival had its beginning back in 1980 when the local government and the villagers decided to hold a
‘celebration’ of sorts to express and relieve grief that they were experiencing due to the economic crisis and city-wide
tragedy. It was when one of the top sources of income of the province, which is sugar cane, had a crisis regarding price.
It had been consistently low for the past months so much so that it affected the way of living and the economy of the
province as a whole. This began due to the introduction of the other substitute for sugar brought by the Americans, the
high fructose corn syrup. Indeed, the total effect of this economic crisis was felt by all people in the province regardless
of which walks of life they came from. During this time of loss, another tragedy occurred, a tragic ferry accident
happened. The ship of the MV Don Juan vessel collided with another boat, and that caused the sinking of the ship which
happens to carry a lot of Negrenses, with approximately 750 casualties including the different prominent families of the
City of Bacolod. It was an event that the left a scar on the people of Bacolod. To lift the spirits of the locals and bring
back the smiles on their faces, the MassKara Festival was created. The government saw this as a way to show that the
city was tough and would always be able to survive even in the direst of situations. This served as a light of hope to the
entire province despite the tragedies. People participated in the festival by wearing masks to hide the tears that they
were shedding and the sadness in their faces along with brightly colored costumes, and unusual accessories while
parading around and dancing in the streets, all to give the message of happiness despite the difficult state of their lives.
As time went by and the festival took hold over the years, more people joined to the point that it has now become
widely known around the globe as one of the most popular festivals, with nearly 3 million people who attend from every
corner of the world. The center of the MassKara festival is the big vibrant masks. A lot of barangays and groups are
working hard to give world-class performances complete with crafted masks and eye-catching outfits. MassKara Festival
is known for its street parties, with the biggest party, known as Masskaraland. The music used for the celebration has
enjoyed a colorful evolution, just like the festival. From folk songs, the festival now uses a combination of Latin beat
remixes as well as Philippine Jazz to grace the street dances. Indeed, the MassKara Festival is a manifestation of the
popular tag, “city of smiles.” The MassKara Festival is a beautiful, symbolic gesture of the type of resiliency the people of
Bacolod hold and that the smiling masks were a declaration of the people of Bacolod City that they will pull through and
survive the challenges and tragedies that they are facing.

mapalipunan man, gobyerno o personal.

The Bacolod City MassKara Festival is one of the grandest in the Philippines. For over 30 years, the festival has provided
local and foreign tourists with the opportunities to have fun, drink, and party on the streets of Bacolod! This annual
extravaganza, which is similar to the Rio Carnival in Brazil, literally translates to "many faces" and is hosted in Bacolod

was felt by everyone in the province, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Another tragedy struck during this period
of mourning: a horrific ferry accident. The MV Don Juan vessel collided with another boat, sinking the ship, which
happened to be carrying a large number of Negrenses, with roughly 750 casualties, including members of various major
Bacolod families. It was an incident that left a lasting impression on the people of Bacolod. The MassKara Festival was
created to uplift the spirits of the inhabitants and bring back the smiles on their faces. The government regarded this as
a means to showcase that the city was tough and capable of surviving even in the most catastrophic of circumstances.

When the new strain of virus called COVID 19 struck way back 2019 and had its full force strike in year 2020,
the course of my life changed. Within a blink, everybody was locked in their respective houses as the cases
skyrocketed on daily basis. My mother constantly reminded us that we were not allowed to step a foot outside
our house premises for people like us, people who are immunocompromised are considered at high risk of
getting infected from the coronavirus. We were told that if ever we felt something strange within ourselves or
similar to the symptoms of pneumonia, we must immediately notify our mother, by that we will be able to
perform the proper protocols and prevent infecting other members of the family. During the first 2 years of the
pandemic, I was not able to go out of our house, my whole life revolved within the walls of our home. During
these times, things started to change, my relationship with other people started to become distant and I lost some
of my friends. However, I still am still completely thankful, for I was able to distinguish people who are real to
me from those who were not. Furthermore, I was able to develop different new set of skills and hobbies such as,
painting, journaling, drawing and most of all cooking. There were never any dull or boring days! With the
strains of viruses attacking people, we were forced to stay home and with this being said, I was able to reunite
and spend a lot of quality time with my grandparents. The memories I made with them were all painted with
joy, laughter and love. It was also during these times where I had plenty of time to reflect, making me realized
how lucky I am as a person; thus, I should be grateful and be more appreciative with what I have in life for
other people are suffering with uncountable problems brought by the pandemic.
