Anent to this, Marbon National High School as one of the stakeholders of the community takes part of the QUARTERLY NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED). The activity promptly started at 8:00 in the morning of Thursday, March 9, 2023 with the SDRR Coordinator reorienting the faculty and staff on duty on the things to do during the drill and its connection with the real scenario of an earthquake happening. All students from Grade 7 to Grade 12 were briefed and re oriented on the things to be done during earthquake and what to do during the drill. At 2:00 in the afternoon in the morning, a resounding bell that could be heard throughout the school rang signaling the start of the drill and also symbolizing the shaking of the ground. This lasted for one minute in which the faculty and staff performed the DUCK, COVER and HOLD inside their classrooms/office. After the bell, they exited their classrooms; forming a single line to avoid blocking the exits and stampede, in order to go to the evacuation area/safe haven of the school. In the evacuation area, they still formed a single line while ducking and covering their heads. The SDRRM Coordinator then accounted for the presence, condition and safety of all faculty and staff. The school head together with 14 teachers, 1 Non-teaching personnel, and 201 students participated the earthquake drill. No untoward incident happened during the conduct of the drill. With God’s grace and with our own efforts, may we always be safe from disasters brought about by natural phenomenon. PICTORIALS DUCK, COVER, HOLD
