Question: Do you think life is a project? What are the Enterprise Environmental Factors
(EEFs) influencing this project? Are there Organizational Process Assets (OPAs)
involved? 
Answer
ife can be termed as a project since it has a start, a series of events and processes and
an end. It involves planning, resourcing and execution of plans to achieve desired
outcome in various phases of life.
Enterprise Environmental Factors Affecting Life
Life, being a project, is influenced various EEFs which include following:-
a. External Factors
i Family Background
Family background is something an individual can have no control on. A
person cannot choose following:-
a) Who his parents would be
b) How educated they would be
c) How many family member will be there
d) What will be religious beliefs of the parents
ii Place of Birth
Place of birth can dictate various factors in a person’s life like
environment, political situation, access to facilities etc.
iii Initial Brought Up
The way a person is dealt with in his early days can define the type of
personality he will have in future. Difficult circumstances can leave a grave
mark on the personality.
iv Early Education
Type and quality of education received by the person is also beyond his
control since it greatly depends on the financial conditions of his family.
v Facilities Available
 The facilities available to the person in his early life have an influence on
life. Access to health, educational, recreational and adventure facilities
define the type of life a person will lead.
b. Internal Factors
i Physical Disability
A physical condition which a person is born with will have a permanent
effect on the life.
ii Mental Condition
A condition of mental retardation by birth influences the life permanently.
iii Disease
A person born with the disease that has life-long implications are beyond
control of the individuals.
Organizational Process Assets Involved in Life Project
Life as a project is also affected by various OPAs involved in it. These OPAs lay down
guidelines, rules and regulation which will govern the life. Some of the OPAs involved in
life are as under:-
a. Religious Teachings
These provide guidelines about what is right and what is wrong.
b. Cultural and Social Bindings
Socially and culturally accepted behaviours are desired and thus form part of
rules for life.
c. Government Rules and Regulations
Rules defined by government in constitution have an influence on the life of a
person.
