Lesson/Topic: Unit 11 C ”Cinderella” (Part 2).
Learners' ages: 8- 9
Grade:4th “b” grade

Time: 45 min

Prior learning related to this lesson: a)The students know how to make comparative and the
homework superlative forms of the adjectives; b) seasons; c) the beginning of the story
“Cinderella”.

Learning Objectives: by the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:


*improve grammatical skills: degrees of comparison of adjectives
*get to know the new vocabulary of the new lesson and the translation of the text.

Purpose of the lesson:


to develop reading, speaking and writing skills through the activities planned for the lesson.

Materials: worksheets, a computer, projector, books, copybooks, pens, and markers.

Mode: Whole class
1.Greetings
2. Organizational work (2 min)
3. Opening: Warm up: Ask questions about the weather, and season.
4. Check their home task: represent “Spring”;
Revision: ask the students to choose the moths for each season. (5 min)
(distribute the names of months to the students of 5 groups. Ask the students to stick the names
under the proper season)
b) review adjectives (degrees of comparison) (group work) (3 min)
5. Introduce the topic of the day's lesson by telling the Ss that they are going to study the fairy-
tale ”Cinderella” (part 2).
Review the beginning of the story by asking/answering the questions. (3 min)
A. Write the target vocabulary on the writing board and give the needed explanations. (3 min)

B. Reading the text


1. Ask the ss to open their textbooks and read the text taking turns (pop-corn method) (5 min)
C. Watching the video “Cinderella” (Edpuzzle) (7 min)
D. Discussion:
a) Ask what is the difference between the video and the story in the textbook.
b) Then ask the Ss to state which characters they liked the best and why.
6. Energizer: to fix the new words using the technique “to kill the fly”. (5 min)
7. Group work on revision: (7- 10 min)

E. Wrap up
*3 new words or expressions from the text
*2 adjectives best describing the heroes
*1 memorized sentence from the text

8. Home task: Good reading and translation of the text “Cinderella (part 2)
