Topic: Some companies push employees to retire after they pass middle age. Others

allow employees to stay until they want to retire. Which do you think is better from

the company's point of view? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your

choice.

Do: There are a lot of different perspectives on whether it is better to push employees

to retire after they pass middle age or stay until they want to retire. Both options have

their advantages and disadvantage, company needs to consider various factors before

making a choice. In my point of view, company allow employees to stay until they

want to retire is a better choice because their experience of job and expense of

recruitment. In this essay, I will discuss why company should allow employees to stay

until they want to retire and provide examples to illustrate my points.

Firstly and foremost, retaining employees who worked at longtime in company can

help company retain expertise-knowledge sources. Old workers always accumulate

broad range of knowledge associated with their expertise in many years. Therefore, if

they retire or leave company, company can lose season employees which can lead to

disruption on company’ operation and development. For instance, my uncle faced

difficulties in maintaining the continuity of his company's operations after the


retirement of experienced employees, which took a considerable amount of time and

resources to overcome.

Secondly, company allow employees to stay until they want to retire which can reduce

cost of recruitment and training for new employees. Company can take so many

money for recruit new employees, particularly who have exceptional expertise or

work in specific environment. Additionally, longtime workers also can help share

expertise knowledge, skills or workload with their colleagues and help their company

training new employees. For example, my company have some old staff and they

ready train new employees who can replace them when them want to retirement and

new worker can quickly learn expertise skills when they immediately practice in their

work.

To sum up, in my opinion, company allow employees to stay until they want to retire

is better choice because company can better operation thank to season employees and

save expense of recruitment and training for new employees. It is important to weigh

the pros and cons carefully before making such a decision.
