Assessment Task – On Becoming a Global Teacher

ESSAY

Direction: Briefly but comprehensively answer the following reflection questions.

1. If given an opportunity to experience teaching in another country listed in Lesson 2 of Chapter 5,

where would you like to teach? Explain. (10 points)
 If I were given an opportunity to experience teaching in another country, I would like to teach in
Japan. Considering that the Japanese people, their culture, and the role they play in the globe
continue to make Japan one of the world’s most distinctive nations. Japan is known for its warm,
kind, polite, and incredibly thoughtful citizens, who all share a strong sense of hospitality. They
are respectful to everybody, young, adults and everyone from Japan. The nation is highly crime-
free, and cities like Tokyo and Kyoto have been ranked among the safest locations in the world.
However, we all know that Japan is an innovative country. They are rich of high and advance
technology compare to the Philippines. And as a teacher in a very rich country, I really have to
study very well the lesson that I am going to teach in my students considering that my students
came from innovative country.

2. The global learning village has changed and will keep on changing. As you prepare to become
the Teacher of the 21st Century, how will you prepare for these rapid changes? (10 points)
 The global learning has changed and will keep on changing. As I prepare to become the Teacher
of the 21st Century, because of the rapid changes of global learning I will prepare my self through
training. As every teachers starts from nothing and keep on studying, training etc. From nothing to
something, that’s where everyone started. However, as a future educator, there are things need
to consider on the changes of global learning. Educators need to develop the skills of the 21 st
century people. From literacy skills, numeracy skills, computer skills, etc. No teacher shall live
without any of the 21st century devices. As a teacher, we should adopt, watch and learn
everything. We can’t be ignorant. Thus, as a teacher, you should be the one who will taught all
the learning to your students. Not students will teach you how or what to do so, though it’s not
bad if students will teach you how to do things like computer but, as teachers we are responsible
to learn anything. Study, train, watch and adopt. That’s the preparation that I will do.
