Hot Water Calculations

The hot water demand and calorifiers sizing for kitchen area will be as follows:

 Per meal hot water demand = 6 L/day

 Number of meals per day as per kitchen specialist = 1500 meal

 Total Hot Water Demand = [6 L/day x 1500 meals]

= 9000 L/day

The above storage capacity shall be diversified considering the water temperatures and
project type. Hence:

80% x 9000 L/day = 7200 L/day say 8000L/day

Select 2 nos. of calorifiers, each having 4000 Ltr.

Power consumption (each) = m x cp x delta T

= (4000 x 4.186 x (65-35)) / 2 hr. x 3600
≈ 70 KW each
