I. INTRODUCTION

Our group conducted a small business wherein, we will have to sell indigenous products that are
new to eyes and taste of customers. Various ideas were exchanged in the group and we look right on the
realistic product and we think customer may want. We focused on delights and drinks because we know
that they will buy it. The products that we’ve chosen to sell are buchi (chocolate and cheese fillings), and
palamig (buko pandan with gelatin and tapioca pearls). We’ve named our product, “Agri-licious
Delights”, because we want to serve our delights with delicious taste.

Our team was founded mainly to comply in the requirements of our subject Entrepreneurship.
Our group consist of six members want to explore new marketing strategies, experience to gain profit and
serve every students, teachers of PRMSU-Main Campus for the first time as a troop. Combining all our
skills and talents in cooking, promoting products and socializing will surely help us and support our
business to grow up and achieve the target market. Our small business will offer quality foods with a
cheaper price.

Together with our fellow agriculture students, we are going to sell the products in main campus
for the celebration of its 113th founding anniversary in April 18, 2023.

II. BUSINESS SETUP

Samalamig or palamig (buko pandan with sago and gulaman), is a drink made from coconut
pandan flavored juice with gelatin cutted in cube size and small tapioca pearls. In our version, we will
boil original pandan leaves and mix it with tapioca pearls and gelatin. We consider the hot temperature
that students may experience in main campus that is why we come up with an idea of selling it.
Meanwhile, buchi is a type of fried Chinese pastry made from glutinous rice flour. The pastry is coated
with sesame seeds on the outside and is crisp and chewy after immediately being cooked. In our version,
the dough were mixture of glutinous rice flour and sweet potato and the fillings are cheese and chocolate.
We want them to taste the peculiar taste of dark chocolate and cheese because we are serving it hot.

Since the products are ready, we are going to sell it in PRMSU-Main Campus. Tents and tables
are arranged for us and we are free to choose where to place our products. At first, we really had a nice
spot to sell but some instructor told us to move out and we have no choice but to find another place.
Additionally, the area we are in, are not in front but on the side of table where least customer are passing
by. Some of our classmate/competitor won’t give a place for us and we understand it and we don’t want a
fight. We waited patiently until they are done with selling their products and we placed our product in
front. Patient is really the key to success because it happened to us. If we aren’t patient enough to sell our
products we will not earn and learn.

Moreover, planning and organizing is difficult because there are a lot of customers and you
shouldn't make them wait while you're selling food on the spot. Problem arises such as; insufficient coins,
lacking of materials, and buying additional ingredients are very hard because it’s a mile from the store.
Also, we are lacking of manpower because someone has to buy all the extra ingredients and someone
needs to sell and prepare the products.
Overall, it was a terrific experience since it allowed us to practice and develop our patience,
strategies, and methods. Although it’s difficult, it was worthwhile.

III. BUSINESS OPERATIONS

College of Agriculture and Forestry gathered in one place having different products in each table.
We are free to choose in what area we are in each table and that is where challenges happen. In selling our
products, our target customers are students and teachers because we want them to experience the mouth-
watering taste of our buchi and palamig (buko pandan). The buchi are placed in paper bowl with
toothpick because it is hot when served and we sell it for 5 pesos each. Meanwhile, the palamig (buko
pandan) is placed on 10 ounce of plastic cup and we sell it for 10 pesos.

Our strategy in attracting customer is to call them and let them watch us cook the buchi and
persuade/engage them to taste it. The palamig is suited for the hot temperature that is why many
customers liked it.

IV. FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

In conducting this small business, our capital is 900 pesos wherein, every one of us contributed
150 pesos. However, the expenses we spent in buying the all ingredients and other materials are 1,368
pesos. The total capital we spent is 1,368 pesos. The receipts were shown with all the members of the
group. Four (4) members were present in entire fair and they did everything for the business. Luckily, the
total sales we earned are 1,464 pesos making 96 pesos profit.

Our group did not expect the ingredients and materials will be that expensive. Nevertheless, we
wouldn’t expect that we will recover from the investment that we made and we are lucky to make profit
out of it.

V. CHALLENGES AND LESSON LEARNED

It is really challenging selling these products and we really experienced many obstacles that we
faced and accepted wholeheartedly. Our competitors are our classmates and schoolmates. Furthermore,
the area we are in, are like dessert for real, bright red tent that adds up to the hot flame of temperature. It’s
very hard to move when everything was not organized and crowded that makes us want to finish it very
soon. Nevertheless, customer flocks in front that is why we have to endure it and it is really fun satisfying
their cravings.

We noticed that the delights that we made, buchi are not that attractive to the customers. Many
customers loved it but we could not sell it all because we produced many of it. However, the buko pandan
were our best selling product. They really loved how it tasted and they keep on buying it. We produced 3
gallons and it was sold out. After selling, we realized that we should add more sesame on buchi for it to
be more attractive and we should present it more presentably. Also, the buko pandan are not really a
natural pandan but a flavored buko pandan juice. However, the taste and result turns out to be good and
we are relieved.

All and all, it was a job well done for us and we know what to do next because of the experience
we encounter in PRMSU-Main Campus. Circumstances can’t be avoided but when we work as a group,
nothing is impossible. Also, if we were given a chance to sell products we would improve our skills and
strategies to be more efficient young entrepreneurs.
VI. Individual Reflection

ANGELINE L. MENDOZA

We were tasked to produce indigenous products and sell it in PRMSU-Main Campus for the
celebration of its founding anniversary. Our product is named “Agri-licious Delights” and the products
we offered are sesame balls or buchi and samalamig pandan gulaman. When hearing these delights seems
to be very easy to make but literally it was not. In making the buchi, it was like making bread because we
need to knead and rest the dough or the mixture of glutinous rice flour and mashed sweet potato. We need
to make round ball of dough with cheese or chocolate inside before rolling it on sesame seeds. While, in
making palamig, we need to boil the jelly powder and the tapioca pearls. After that, add it all in a
container and mix all the buko pandan juice and all other ingredients.

We all experience the heat coming from the sun and the red color of the tent that fueled the
temperature more. Being there for a long hour feels like burning and it was a test of patience and
endurance. However, since we want our product to be sold out, nothing is impossible. I have seen many
struggles from my fellow classmates and the crowd because of the heat. Hours have passed and the
customers are still looking for delights and we are all there to satisfy them. Suggestion box are available
in each group and they are free to make any side comments about our products. Some customers praise us
and some of them complain also and we cannot avoid that. Improvements have a room for everyone that
is why we accept their suggestions.

KIMBERLY ROSE NARCISO

The day of foundation comes, all of the section who has a subject of entrepreneurship will sell
their products on the day of April 18 2023. In the first days of starting our business we sell our products
in PRMSU IBA MAIN CAMPUS. Many student bought our products specially the palamig flavored
gulaman. While we are selling our product Ma'am Carla buy 3 pieces of butchi and she said that the
butchi flavored with dark chocolate is so yummy". At first we expected that our products unable to
recognize and get the attention of people at main campus but then after an hour our product starting to
recognize specially our drinks" Palamig Pandan Gulaman" we are not expecting that our drinks will be
marketable to people. When our products was sold we talked about cleaning the booth because it was too
hot in the tent.
We learned a lot of things in this course, but I think the most important lesson I learned is that it’s
not easy to be an entrepreneur. Some people start their own businesses for the wrong reason and some
start with wrong mindset. I’ve always thought that if someone has a brilliant business idea and
hardworking they will succeed and grow their business. However, now I know that there are many things
to consider before starting any business. In fact, there are many strategies that an entrepreneur could
follow to achieve success, such as know your customers.
Every “true” entrepreneur knows that there will be never enough time or money to make things
right when starting a new business. So it’s vital to focus on the most important thing, which is the
customer. To understand the importance of knowing customers, imagine an entrepreneur with a flawless
and innovative product but doesn’t have enough customers to sustain the business and the opposite is true.
For entrepreneurs to be customer-focused they need to understand customers needs rather than focusing
on great products or wonderful services.

Businesses are one of the major contributor in our growing economy both small scale businesses
and big time businesses. Every emerging business always starts in small scale and small capital
investment. One of the challenge in making and in establishing a business is that how you will start it. As
part of our subject Entrepreneur we are able to make, create and established our business named Agri-
licious on April 18, 2023 at PRMSU IBA Campus.
Establishing a business always starts with planning. Planning is one of the crucial part of
establishing a business comprising too many factors to be considered and questions that need to be
answered. Knowing what will be the product to be sold and how to sell it and to whom to sell it are one of
the important questions we encountered asking ourselves. The business that we introduced made me
realize that a thorough planning and setting up your business is important that time is crucial and it's gold.
Moreover, I realized that introducing new products and tastes required a lot of and a stable marketing
strategies like you need to provide all the answers to the costumer's question brought by their curiosity.
Proper planning and marketing with respect to time will give your business the edge of being
successful. Also that in-depth knowledge about your business is one thing to kept in mind as an
entrepreneur.

display our product at bench at 9:00 A.M until afternoon on that day. We used the table we barrow on the
school. That day of selling our product is go well.We put all our effort and skill to sell our product we
have generate a profit of more than our capital. That one day selling experience was quite fun yet so tiring
but we were able to learn how to be entrepreneur for even a short time.

Our business name is Agrilicious Delight. Our product are Bu-choco, Bu-cheese and Pandan
Gulaman Juices. Bu-choco and Bu-cheese popular name in our country butchi. . Butchi one of the most
favorite partner in drinks like Pandan Gulaman Juice. Pandan Gulaman are the best seller because of
the climate.

Buchi is a Filipino treat made of glutinous rice stuffed with a sweet filling, rolled in sesame
seeds, and fried into golden brown goodnessi. They normally filled it with lotus, sweet black bean,
or red bean paste. With the ingenious minds of Filipinos, there are several local options to use for the
filling ube yema and kamote are some of the most popular ones while bucheese and buchoco use for
the filling chocolate and cheese.
My experience when we were in the main campus, the experience was selling, because you
were making money, you were able to help them because you were selling them delicious food.

In business, I learned that it isn’t as easy as I thought it would be to manage your own company.
Businesses are very hard to make because a lot of money is included to start the business and
management is a must. Owning your businesses means you would have to take care of many things
including: employment, paying bills, making decisions and becoming a leader. Managing a business
effectively and managing staff effectively is the key to the establishment and growth of the business. The
key to successful management is to examine the marketplace environment and create employment and
profit opportunities that deliver the potential growth and financial capability of the business. An
entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, usually with considerable initiative
and risk. The things I learned can definitely be used in my everyday life because it’s a way of surviving.
Learning about business helped me get a better understanding of how I would run my own company
someday
