Teacher’s Activity Learner’s Activity

A. Preliminary activities

1. Prayer

Before we formally start our discussion

let’s all stand, someone lead the prayer.
(Someone lead the prayer)

Let’s bow our head and feel the presence

of God.

(Amen!) (Amen!)

2. Customary Greetings

“Good morning Class!”

“Good morning, ma’am!”
How are you today? We’re good ma’am!

Have you taken your breakfast?

Yes ma’am!
That’s good!
Thank you, ma’am!

That’s good!

B. Motivational Activity
WORD WAR

Before we proceed to our discussion, let’s

have first an activity. This is WORD WAR.
The class will be divided into 3 groups.
The teacher will show a set of words
which corresponds to only one word.
Each group is given 15 seconds to read
the set of words which sounds-like the
right word and write it on an illustration
board. Each correct answer is equivalent
to 2 points.

To record your points, I’ll be giving you a

recitation log to tally each point you
gained all throughout our discussion.
Understood?

Words that will be given: Climate, Yes, Ma’am!

Weather, Sunny, Rainy, Winter

 Clay Meat = Climate

 Way There = Weather
 Son Honey = Sunny
 Ray Knee = Rainy Students proceed to their group and start
 Wing Tear = Winter the activity.

C. Developmental Activities
1. Discussion
So based on our activity, what do
you think is our topic for today?
Ma’am, our topic for today is all about
climate and weather.
Very Good!

Some of you may mistake climate from

weather. But in fact, they are not the
same.

It is important to understand the

difference between weather and climate.

Do you have any idea about climate and

weather?
Yes, Ma’am!
Today, I want to see what you already
know. We will start by completing a KWL
chart on Weather and Climate.

After we've completed our charts, we will

watch a few videos and you will take
notes about weather and climate.

Is that clear? Yes, Ma’am!

(Teacher gives the KWL chart to the (Students get the KWL chart from the
students.) teacher.)

I want you to fill up first the two column

which is What I Know and What I Want to
Know. Write at least one or two things
you know about climate under the climate
heading and weather under the weather
heading. Also, write at least one or two
things you want to know about climate
under the climate heading and weather
under the weather heading.

I’ll give you 5 minutes to talk with your

group mates and write down what you
know and what you want to know.
(Students fill up the first two column of
the KWL chart.)

(Circulates around the classroom

checking what the students are writing on
the chart.)
(After 5 minutes…)

Posted here in front is a bigger size of

your KWL chart.

May I have someone to please give one

thing he/she knows about climate and
weather and write it on this paper?

Yes? Ma’am! (Someone raised his/her hand)

Kindly put it on the chart.

Thank you!
(Write what he/she knows about climate
and weather and put it on the chart in

For us to know if the things you knew
were correct. And also, for us to be able
to answer what you want to learn from our
topic, let us watch the following videos.

But before that, I have here a Two

Column Notes Sheet. You have to label it
as Climate and Weather.

As you listen to the videos or when we

view definitions, use this sheet to write
facts that you hear.

On your two column notes, write

something you heard about weather in
the weather column. Write something you
heard about climate in the climate Yes, Ma’am!
section.

Is that clear?

(After watching the video)

about the climate after watching the
video.)

Ma’am, climate because each area has a

climate it is known for.
Which is more constant- weather or

Ma’am, weather because one day it can

D. Generalization

Now that you have already know

what climate and weather is, kindly
fill up the last column. Write there
what you have learned. And, may I
have someone to please write on
this paper what he/she have
learned about climate and weather
and put it on the chart?
