WEEK: 6 – 7 QUARTER: 3 Quarter SUBJECT: Science
SSECTION/ Schedule:
OBJECTIVE
Skills – Cite some common ways on how to lessen the effects of climate change.
SUBJECT MATTER
Prayer
“Before we start our lesson, may I request everyone to please stand for our
prayer”.
(Students will stand up and pray)
(The student A will lead the prayer)
Greetings
“So, how’s your morning?” “That’s good to know” “It is great ma’am/sir!”
“Before we proceed to our new topic for today. Who can recall the previous
topic we had? Anyone?”
“So, last Monday we tackled about ocean and how does it affects the
climate change .”
Motivation:
“I have here some pictures. So, what you are going to do is to guess what
these pictures tells about?

POLUTION
CLIMATE CHANGE
DEFORESTATION
“Ok, it is about climate change and other global phenomena that we are
experiencing right now”
" This refers to long term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns.
These shifts maybe natural ,such as through the variations in the solar cycle
”
Lesson Proper:
(The teacher will explain about the Climate change and the causes of it )
1. Burning fossil fuels – Fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal contain carbon
dioxide that has been 'locked away' in the ground for thousands of years.
When we take these out of the land and burn them, we release the stored
carbon dioxide into the air. (The students will listen)
1. Milan kovitch cycles – As Earth travels around the sun, its path and the
tilt of its axis can change slightly. These changes, called Milankovitch cycles,
affect the amount of sunlight that falls on Earth. This can cause the
temperature of Earth to change. However, these cycles take place over tens
or hundreds of thousands of years and are unlikely to be causing the
changes to the climate that we are seeing today. (The students will listen)
1. Solar irradiance – Changing energy from the sun has affected the
temperature of Earth in the past. However, we have not seen anything
strong enough to change our climate. Any increase in solar energy would
make the entire atmosphere of Earth warm, but we can only see warming in
the bottom layer.
“Now, I want you to look at this video about climate change and its causes,
All you have to do is to list all the following causes of climate change and
make an advocacy on how you can help lessen the effects of climate
change”
(The students will watch the video)
Application:
Each learner will able to contribute their insights regarding on how they
understand the lessons.
GENERALIZATION :
(Students will listen)
“So what have you learned today?”
“Do you think those advocacies will help us in lessening the effect of
climate change ?”
(The teacher will wrap-up the class discussion through recognizing the
natural and human causes of climate change)
“And that’s our lesson for today, I hope you’ve learned something from
today’s discussion.”
EVALUATION :
A. Identification
____ 9. Deforestation
Assignment
For the next lesson, research and get some information about the impacts
of Climate change .Write it in your lecture notebook. And bring the (The students will write their
following materials for our next activity ,Coloring materials ,Cartolina ,Pencil assignment to the notebook)
,Scissors ,and Long bondpapers.
