How Nayatel responded to natural disease

 Reduced not essential travel

Travel has long been an important part of business. Nayatel limited or prohibited non
essential travel of its employees. Employees whose duties were critical to business
continuity were more likely to fall within a category of essential travel during times of
extreme restrictions.

They have developed an infrastructure for remote work. Setting and maintaining a

and operations to a digital platform to ensure simplicity and accessibility for customers.

How Nayatel is responding to the current economic situation of the country

Nayatel didn’t lay off any single employee during the difficult economic times of covid but now
the economic situation of the country is worse than that. Nayatel is laying off huge numbers of
its employees to minimize their operating cost. It is not expanding its operations to other cities of
the country. A year ago it was growing rapidly. They were starting their operations in other
cities, but they are not expanding its operations. They are also declining their package prices and
offering discounts on installation to increase their revenue. They are also offering free one month
trail to expand their customer base. A year ago they were hiring new employees regularly but
now they are not hiring new employees instead they are firing existing employees.

Recommendation

Nayatel is laying off a big portion of its employees due to current economic situation of the
country but instead of laying off it should go for furloughs. Furlough is a short-term way to
avoid at least some layoffs. This can save money without losing employees. A furlough is a
mandatory but temporary leave of absence. A furloughed employee works a reduced
schedule or takes unpaid leave. It can also go for pay cuts. Pay cuts can help prevent a
business from bleeding jobs. For this to be effective, there must be an agreed-upon, uniform
cut percentage across the board. Though this will hurt in the short term, it is definitely a more
stable alternative for both the employee and employer.
