why)
- I am looking forward to CS 4405, mobile applications, and
CS 4404 advanced networking and data security. I am
looking forward to mobile applications course because this
will help me to further understand and learn to develop
mobile apps. I always wanted to learn how to develop
mobile apps. I am excited for the advanced networking and
data security course because this course is basically what I
want to do with my degree. I want to go into cyber security
so this course will allow me to get a glimpse of the cyber
security world.

Calculus and Programming 2. I am a little bit nervous about

calculus because it’s math. When to math, I am good at it but I
fear that calculus is far too advanced. I am nervous about
programming 2 because I am in Programming fundamentals
right now and it’s tough. It takes a lot of patience and studying
to understand.
Part 2:

Read the following from Chapter 12 Section 4 of our text, College

Success, which shows a list of transferable skills. There is a list of forty
skills in Exercise 3.

Select five skills you believe you have mastered and then describe
specific ways in which you have used each skill successfully.
Then, select five skills you think are important to your career that you
have not mastered yet. Describe specific steps you plan to take to
master those skills.

Five skills that I believe that I have mastered are goal setting,
teamwork, motivating, customer service, and observing.

- Goal Setting- I have used this skill successfully because I

know what I want. I know that I want to go into the cyber
security field. The first step in doing that is by obtaining a
degree in computer science. I am enrolled in UoPeople and
one step closer to achieving this goal.

- Teamwork: I have used this skill by working together as a

team with peers to achieve my goal. I found that working
together allows you to bounce ideas off of each other and
discover multiple avenues on how to reach a final answer.
Also, this skill taught me to be selfless.

- Motivating- I have mastered this skill because I learned how

to keep a positive mindset even when things may get
tough. I know that I wanted more pay and a different
career. I motived myself in enrolling in UoPeople. I feel that
nobody is a bigger cheerleader than yourself.
- Customer service- I mastered this skill because I have over
10 years of experience dealing with customers. No matter if
they are irate, happy, or sad. I mastered on how to adjust to
their energy to provide them with the best customer service
as possible.

- Observation- I mastered this skill because I learned the art

of listening. Part of observing is listening and watching. I
can almost predict a person’s intentions based off of
observing their behavior and just by listening to them
speak.

Five skills you think are important to my career that I have not
mastered yet are organizing, time management, budgeting, planning
and training.

- Organizing – As far as organizing goes, I have never

developed this skill and kind of just do things out of order a
lot. I believe that this skill will help me to prioritize what is
important. Not just in school but in life in general.

- Time Management- I am a serial procrastinator and

typically wait until the last possible minute to get things
done. Developing a time management skill will help me to
organize my time better. Again, this will teach me what
should be a priority and what shouldn’t.
-
- Budgeting- I think this skill will be beneficial to my success
and career because

- Planning
- Training
