I. Objective
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

b. Know the importance of listening

II. Subject Matter


Topic: The Butterfly
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Laptop
Reference: English of the New Generation 7, (page 43-49)

III. Procedures
a. Prelim Activities
(Prayer, Greetings)

b. Motivation-
Do you know yourself well?
What is Legend?

c. Activity
“Read me baby one more time”
The students will be group into two groups and each group must choose 5
students to be the representative of their group.
The first person in each group has to read the sentences that the teacher will
give and he/she will relay it to the second person and up to the last person.
The last person has to write the sentence on the board and he/she will go back
to his/her line and read the sentence all together.

d. Analysis
What did you notice during the activity?

e. Abstraction
Proceed to discuss the topic of the story The butterfly.
Ask the students to read the story silently.
Afterwards, discuss what is the main point or idea of the story and unlock
word difficulties.

f. Application
The teacher will then show a short poem to the students on the screen and then
let them listen to it.
The teacher will ask the student a question after listening to the poem.
After listening to the poem, how does the man feel about the tree?

IV. Evaluation
The students are now given a test to evaluate their understanding.
1. Why did he garden of the old women captivate the attention of the passer-by?
2. How will you describe the old women? Why?
3. Why did the women get angry to the arrogant stranger?
4. How did the lady punish the man?

V. Assignment
Write down the lesson derived from “The Butterfly”. Explain.
