Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan in English

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students shall be able to:
 identify the message of the poem;
 appreciate the importance of the poem; and
 write a short slogan about the poem

II. SUBJECTMATTER
Topic: All Things Bright and Beautiful

Materials: PowerPoint Presentation

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparation
The teacher will begin the class with a prayer; she will ask to ready themselves for today’s
discussion. Afterwards, she will introduce some agreements to present formality and organization
in the class discussion. Then will start checking the attendance.
 Review
The teacher will have recapitulation of the previous topic.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation/ Opening Activity
The teacher will have a game “4 pics one word” and ask students what it does imply.

Wise – having or showing experience, knowledge, and good judgment
Bright – shining
Pleasant – giving a sense of happy satisfaction or enjoyment.
Ripe – fully matured
Glowing – expressing great praise

2. Discussion
a. Presentation of Objective
(Let the class read your objective and use PowerPoint presentation in presenting your
objectives.)
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
 Identify the message of the poem;
 appreciate the importance of the poem; and
 create your own moral of the poem
b. Pre-reading/Before reading
b.1. Sets a purpose for reading
b.2. Previews the text
The teach will ask the students to preview the text that they will discuss later on.

c. Reading Proper
c.1 Monitors their comprehension by:
asking questions
rereading
In every stanza, the teacher will ask if they understand it clearly.
c.2. Makes personal connections
As the students begin to read the text, the teacher will task the students to have a
personal connection with the content of the poem.

d. Post-reading/After reading
d.1. Reflects on what was read
d.2 Interprets and evaluates the ideas in the text
The teacher will ask the student about their interpretation and realization after reading
the poem.

IV. Generalization
(The teacher will ask the students questions to test if they really understand the lesson.)
What do you think is the message of the story?
What is the importance of the poem?

Afterwards, the teacher would group the students to make a slogan about the poem.
The following would be the criteria to be used:
Originality 30%
Relevance 50%
Accuracy 20%

V. Evaluation
Write an essay regarding this question: Does the poem imply an important message? Justify your
answer.

VI. Assignment
Research and read the story of the Fox and Crow.
