RESOLUTION NO. 18-08

A RESOLUTION UPDATING THE “BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE” BARANGAY

TUNASAN, CITY OF MUNTINLUPA, ITS MEMBERS AND REITERATING ITS DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES

WHEREAS, Section 16, Republic Act 7160, General Welfare of, states that, “Every local
government unit shall exercise the powers expressly granted, those necessarily implied there
from, as well as powers necessary, appropriate, or incidental for its efficient and effective
governance, and those which are essential to the promotion of the general welfare. x-x-x, shall
ensure and support, among other things, x -x-x, promote health and safety, x-x-x, and
preserve the comfort and convenience of the inhabitants;

WHEREAS, Barangay Tunasan has signed “Kapasyahan Brgy. Blg. 91-001 entitled,
Kapasyahan sa pagbuo ng isang “Barangay Nutrition Committee” (BNC) as addendum by
Barangay Executive Order No. 18-08;

WHEREAS, the then members of BNC is no longer active;

WHEREAS, the Barangay Council of Tunasan believes that updating the Barangay
Nutrition Committee is very important to help look into the health concerns of its territorial
jurisdiction;

WHEREAS, the Tunasan Barangay Council reiterates BNC’s duties and responsibilities:

a. Formulates the Barangay Nutrition Action Plan

b. Coordinates the nutrition activities of the Barangay
c. Prepares the spot map of the Barangay
d. Conducts Operation Timbangan (OPT) under the supervision of the City
Health Unit
e. Holds regular meetings to monitor nutrition program performances
f. Performs such other functions which may be assigned by the City Nutrition
Council.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that this Resolution is
hereby passed and approved this 16th day of June 2018 and shall take effect immediately.
