magical object in 2 lines in the poem.

CRITERIA
LESSON DEVELOPMENT
Realia such as seashells, sand, teacup and other suitable objects. Get pupils to
PRE LESSON come up, touch, feel and guess the object.
1. The word ‘magic’ is written on the board in a circle map. Pupils brainstorm
words that remind them of the word.
2. Pupils read the poem ’Sounds Like Magic’.
ACTIVITIES 3. Pupils share their ideas of what they understand about the poem.
4. Pupils choose an object that represents magic to them.
5. Teacher shows an example of a poem.
6. Pupils create a four-line poem based on the chosen magical object.
Pupils showcase their four-line poem for a gallery walk.

LESSON DEVELOPMENT
Pupils refer to textbook page 11 Activity 5. Teacher asks questions such as;
PRE LESSON Who is the email from? How old is she? Where does she live? What is the start
of the email? What is at the end of the email?
1. Teacher writes a few details on the board and pupils prepare a fact file about
themselves by filling in the blanks of the details. Ex: Name, Age, Siblings,
School, Interested in, Speaks and Nationality.
ACTIVITIES 2. Pupils tell their partners about themselves based on their fact file.
3. Pupils refer to Activity 8 and start writing an email about themselves to a
friend (M). Pupils are guided to write the emails using shorter sentences (L).
4. Pupils read their partners email to check before sending the email.
Pupils are encouraged to use emojis at the of their emails. Pupils send the
POST LESSON emails to their e-pal or to their friends in another class.
