PROJECT PROPOSAL
Project Title: DES BRIGADA PAGBASA THROUGH PROJECT DEAR (Daily Enhanced
Activity in Reading)
Proponents: Analiza M. Abalos/BE Coordinator
Propose Date: November onwards
Beneficiary: Dagupan Elementary School learners
I. Rationale:
Pursuant to Deped Memorandum No. 48, s 2021 or the 2021 Brigada Eskwela, the
Brigada pagbasa as part of Brigada Eskwela is an after-school reading program that envisions
bringing together education partners and experts to help all learners read and become
functionally literate. Dagupan Elementary School will conduct Brigada Pagbasa on
September 2021 onwards with a theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan”. Teachers will take the lead
in preparing a safe, clean and orderly school for the coming school year 2021-2022.
Children with weakened academic skills face the possibility of having less access
to higher education. This may result in diminished opportunity that may affect a
child’s overall quality of life.
To address the circumstances, the proponents of this project together with the faculty
member of DES and volunteers decided to propose a program which will be called DES
BRIGADA PAGBASA THROUGH PROJECT DEAR (Daily Enhanced Activity
in Reading) . The purpose of this project is to support the Brigada Pagbasa program and
increase the reading proficiency of the identified slow groups of pupils from Kinder to Grade
6 who are non reader and under frustration level and evaluate the improvement of the pupils.
Some of the identified problems were the lack of parent’s interest to teach children in reading,
lack of pupil’s interest, insufficient reading materials, and child motivation because of the
current pandemic situation.
We believe that if this program will be implemented, the pupils will improve their
skill in reading. If proposed project will be conducted from September 1, 2021,
onwards it will be a fruitful achievement.
