Within one-hour period, the students should be able to:


1. Narrate the origins and cultural background of selected Philippine festivals
2. Design the visual elements and components of the selected festival through costumes and props
3. Define what makes each Philippine festival unique through a visual presentation.

Review the previous topic by asking some question about the past lesson.

C. Motivation

The teacher will show different pictures of festival celebrated in the Philippines and ask what
pops into their mind when they saw the pictures.

ACTIVITY

The class will be group into two and will be given pictures of different festivals celebrated in the
Philippines the learner’s will write what they know about the festivals shown in the pictures.
The name of festivals, place where it is celebrated and when it is being celebrated.

ANALYSIS
The teacher will ask learner what are the elements of arts present in the costumes and props in of
the festivals in the pictures.
ABSTRACTION
Those religious festivals discussed in the lesson are religious festivals, the learner will identify
the main highlights or the reason what makes each festival unique. The learner will describe
it in one or more sentence/s.
APPLICATION
The learner will create their own miniature costume by using different materials to create the
necessary costume pieces. They can choose any religious festival they want to base their
costume on.

ASSIGNMENT
Tell the learners to bring images of object representatives of the following Davao icons and tell
something about the pictures. Present their object or pictures in class.
