The gabions are designed as the gravity retaining structures and analysed as follows. Before
the design of the gabion structure, the important parameters which are basic for the design
have to be worked out. These include:

e) Base width
f) Embedment depth
g) Batter angle
h) Loading
i) Extent of backfill
j) Seismic loading
k) Porosity of Gabion
