Part 1- General questions about the study phenomenon and the role of the
interviewee with in the Reverse Logistics (RL) of food supply chain

 Can you shortly introduce yourself? Work experience and your role in this organization/ what
are your main responsibilities and objectives?
 What are your personal and organizational objectives in relation to RL?

Part 2 – The factors preventing an effective RL process

 Who are the key player’s / SC partners and their relation to your industry and how do you
achieve communication between them regarding material, information and financial flow?
 What type of collaboration among FSC participants do you have? is it (formal, informal, short
or long term) and how does it effects the RL implementation?
 How do you handle different kind of products and returned materials? What are the risks you
identified while handling different products in RL process?
 Regarding the different parties that you have contact with; how does the partnership function?
How do you enhance each’ others capabilities? Which procedures are in place to influence the
partnership?
 What is role of decision making in risk management and in implementation of RL?
 Is there any RL strategy that you are using in food supply chain?
 What is the role of information technology in achieving successful RL implementation and to
what extent you company is using IT in RL?
 For the reduction food waste and food loss what steps your organization is taking and does it
can be reduced through RL? And what do you think can be done better/ differently in the
innovation process of reducing food waste and loss?
 What do you think how does product packaging effects the RL and the quality of product?
 Any other inefficiencies you want to mention that you face in RL in your
company/organization?
 What is the role of RL in achieving organizational performance in your point of view?
 What are the benefits of RL application? Are there any factors that prevent the implementation
of any innovative approaches? How can we improve performance through RL?
