Although Jesus’ birth brings in the New relationship with God, fulfilling many of the Old Testament prophecies along the way. and changing many of the instructions given to Israel, he too warns about trying to second guess the future. When pressed by his disciples about future events he says "But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24.36).. He also warns us not to worry about what tomorrow might hold (Matthew 6. 34) because it cannot add even a minute to ‘our life. Yet all the while he offers us hope for our future, a future held in the hands of God. Wishes of a happy new year or a prosperous new year are not always realistic, there may be ups and downs but whatever the new year holds for you may you be able to approach it with, and rely on, the hope and strength that God supplies With every blessing for the new year.
