To continue with discussing the story Daedalus and Icarus I want to ask you guys if you know what Narrative Structure is? It
is also called as Freytag’s Pyramid

So, Freytag’s Pyramid is a narrative structure that breaks the story arc of a drama into five distinct sections.

for us to be able to analyze and remember the story we are going to utilize Freytag’s Pyramid or Narrative Structure.

And so, to refresh your knowledge about narrative structure let us have a short discussion of the parts of Narrative Structure

C. Abstraction I have here a material to show what is Freytag’s Pyramid

any of you guys has any Idea what is the 5 parts or sections of Freytag’s Pyramid?

The first one is?

Right so and what can we find in the exposition?

Yes, the exposition provides important background information that helps the audience or readers understand the world of
the story and the characters' motivations. It sets the stage for what's to come.

Then what comes after the exposition?

Very good, Rising Action is this stage is where the conflict intensifies, and the story develops through a series of events and
complications and it build suspense, raises the stakes, and keeps the audience engaged. It often includes obstacles, conflicts,
and character development that led to the story's climax.

Okay let us continue with?

That’s right climax is the turning point and the most intense moment in the story. It's where the main conflict reaches its highest
point, and the protagonist faces a crucial decision or overcomes a major obstacle.

And of course, after the climax we have?

Yes Here, we see the aftermath of the main event. The falling action shows how the characters respond to the climax and begin
to resolve the remaining conflicts. The intensity and tension start to decrease, leading us towards the resolution.

And finally, we have?

Exactly!

The resolution, also known as the denouement, is the final part of the story. It's where the remaining conflicts are resolved,
loose ends are tied up, and the story comes to a conclusion. The resolution provides closure to the narrative and may offer
insights, lessons, or a glimpse into the characters' future

Now that we are familiarize with this let us try to use Freytag’s Pyramid to show how did the story Icarus and Daedalus progress

1. What could be the exposition of this story?

2. For the rising action what part of the story can be put in this?

3. That’s correct now we have Climax, what is the climax of the story?

4. For the falling action we have?

5. Yes, and finally for the resolution is?
