Volunteers who also highlight their drug prevention activities.

 The Punong Barangay, Hon. Arturo N. Alejandro briefly gave an

overview on the importance of drug prevention.

 Drug abuse can have many short- and long-term negative effects
including physical and mental health problems, legal
consequences, and impairment in many areas of a person's life,
from school to work and interpersonal functioning.

 He underscored that despite the best efforts of the community and

law enforcement, the use of illegal narcotics can never be
completely abolished and can only be reduced.

 The PNP representative reminded the guidelines and procedures to

be undertaken by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the
implementation of the revitalized PNP KASIMBAYANAN
(Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan), a community mobilization
program highlighting the synergized and collaborative partnership
of the PNP with the general public and the religious sector.
